Editorial Reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review
In Tim F LaHaye's The Mark, it's the dawn of the Great Tribulation, "the bloodiest season in the history of the world". After lying in state for three days, Nicolae Carpathia has risen from the dead. As the world responds in awe, statues of the potentate and "god" are erected in every major city, and a new religion, "Carpathianism", is in full swing. Followers of the Antichrist are branded with a loyalty mark on their right hands or their foreheads, and "vaccinated" with a biochip embedded with personal information. Those who refuse the mark take a one-way trip to the guillotine. The second coming of Christ is only three and one-half years away. But can the Tribulation Force hang on?

"The God who calls you to the ultimate sacrifice will also give you the power to endure it. No one can receive the mark of the beast by accident. It is a once-for-all decision that will forever condemn you to eternity without God," writes Tsion Ben-Judah in his daily newsletter with its cyber-audience of more than a billion. Heavenly power may be the only hope for the Tribulation Force, as it struggles to survive amid new terrors, the death of more loved ones, and some unexpected twists in their plans.

The Mark: The Beast Rules the World is the eighth instalment in the blockbuster Left Behind series. Rich in dialogue, this action-packed thriller delivers the same consistent mix of apocalyptic mayhem and quirky humour readers have come to expect from the pen of Jerry Jenkins and the prophetic interpretations of Tim Lahaye. --Cindy Crosby

The Mark; Intense, scary, thought provoking4
After 17,000,000 books already being sold in the series, the Mark hits the shelves as the first book "Left Behind" is about to be released as a movie. Continuing the Saga of those left behind, this 'Episode' once again reveals a little bit more of the story, as the tribulation hots up. As many of the other books you can get bogged down in all the padding out, but again as all the other books, by the time you've put the book down (which is generally once you've reached the end!) you forget this, as it has added to the intencity, and anticipation for what happens next! The Mark often known in terms of 666, is the focus of the book (probably obvious from the title) and at times it becomes too focused, but it's description adds to the fear, suspense, and at times sheer horror, of the times ahead. This book like the whole series is a must for all, as it is (although based on Christian themes (some controversial to Christian and non-Christian alike) a fantasic work from inspired authors. A superb plot, very emotional, and who knows, a glimpse into the future?

An improvement over the last 2 or 3 'Left Behind' books!4
Jenkins and LaHaye have taken the criticisms to of the last few books in this series to heart. This one is well-written, action-packed, exciting and emotionally moving. I couldn't put it down!

Another great release!5
I've been waiting for this release for around five months, and it was well worth the wait. After the last book I didn't think this series could get any better, but just when you think that Jerry and Co. couldn't pull off another best seller with as much guts as the rest of the series- they go and prove you wrong! The characters are loveable, and realistic; Carpathia gets worse, and the martyrs near the close of the book hold you with their bravery and the book at this point is terrifying and fantastically well written.

Five stars for this one- another great way to spend an evening, and I can't think of a better series of books to read during that time that will make you laugh, cry, and shout for more...I'll be booking the next one as soon as Amazon lists it :-)
