Moving and inspiring.
I bought this book because I know most of Nouwen's books and wanted to read this one I never heard of before. I was also interested because it was about Guatemala, a country which I love very much. Well, it is the moving story of a Catholic priest killed during the civil war of the 1980s. The book is only 120 pages, and yet there is so much information about Guatemala's present history and politics, and, above all, so much spirituality. I really enjoyed it. Especially because I read it in a difficult period of my life when I really needed to experience in some way the presence of God on earth, even in places and situation when all seems lost. I needed this book! Another gift from Nouwen. Thank you!
