Thanks heavens for this!5
There has been so little written about chaplaincy generally and healthcare chaplains specifically that I was thrilled to see this book published. I was even happier when I read it! Not only does Mark Cobb set down much of the oral tradition of chaplaincy but he takes us beyond that and gives practical advice as to what the artifice of chaplaincy is all about. There is much for established chaplains, as well as newcomers, to think about in this book. Perhaps a sequel might relate something of the history of chaplaincy and what its place might be in the Church of the future. This book is to be highly recommended to all interested in this area (NHS managers, professions allied to chaplaincy, Church leaders etc) not just chaplains themselves.
