Editorial Reviews

CD Description
Throughout the 70's and 80's, radio sessions played a big part in any bands success in the UK. For AFTER THE FIRE, this was no different:the opportunity to play live in an intimate and professional setting gave the band and fans the best of both live performances and LP sound. As founder member PETER BANKS says "These radio sessions were very important because they gave you status and helped with the awareness of the band as one could deliver a quality live performance".

ATF are a rock/pop band whose roots are in the prog-rock of the early 70's. The 20 tracks featured on this CD were recorded at three different radio sessions between 1979 and 1981, a time when ATF were at their commercial peak.

Customer Reviews

After The Fire at High Speed !5
I already have Der Kommissar:The CBS Recordings which covers what I think is their best period.

ATF - Radio Sessions 1979-1981 has all the best songs from the above double CD.

Namely,Joy,Laser Love (X 2),On Rule For You,Life In The City & Starflight.

What I particularly enjoy are songs which are an improvement on the studio recordings.

They are,Billy Billy,Dancing In The Shadows & Take Me Higher.

If you don't know After The Fire it's synthesizer driven with a post punk type of vocals.
This CD also brings out the lead guitar work more to the fore.

I shall be playing this over & over again.

Just as I remembered5
I'm glad I was able to pick up there sessions on CD. I managed to record these sessions on cassette at the time. That tape just wore out with playing non stop. Absolutey delighted to hear these tracks again. They still sound great today. How about a new album Banksy?

ATF Radio5
ATF were the best live band around in this period.

The energy of their early Melodic Newwave shows in '79 was fantastic - anyone who ever went to an ATF gig or wants to know what was really like to hear them only has to listen to this...
