Customer Reviews

Mine works perfectly!5
I've read the previous reviews and I'm curious as to their complaints... I too bought this primarily due to its ability to charge my i-Pod, which I must say it most definitely DOES! I find it hard to believe that people claim it only charges via A.C. as I'm confident it contains a capacitor which is used (to simply put it) to change an A.C. supply into a D.C. supply.

On the packaging it also states its an :

- i-Pod charger
- PDA charger
- Phone charger
- USB charger

It also states its a "certified USB" charger and says, "Can also be used to charge MP3 players, mobile phones and other 5V powered devices" and I can personally vouch that it works for my i-pod and Motorolla phone.

Perhaps the other consumers had faulty devices, however mine definitely functions as supposed to.

Mixed success2
I bought this adaptor with the intention of using it to charge my Sony Ericsson w810i phone, Nintendo DS and iPod via USB cable. Normally, these devices are recharged by either USB cable hooked up to a PC, or by their own dedicated power supplies.

The Fuji adaptor outputs AC power, whereas my phone, Nintendo DS and iPod all take DC power supplies. The Fuji travel adaptor point blank refused to recharge my mobile phone via USB cable. The Nintendo DS and iPod were recharged via USB in a continual charge-stop-charge-stop fashion, as they were being fed with AC "alternating current" power instead of the required DC "direct current" power (this was evident because the DS charging light constantly blinked on and off, but should have stayed on all the time it was recharging). I'm not convinced this constant charge-stop-charge-stop behaviour is very good news for Nintendo DS or iPod batteries.

In summary, if you want to recharge stuff via USB, my advice is buy a dedicated USB-only travel charger. This Fuji travel adaptor works well as a normal travel adaptor, but there is no guarantee (as I found) it will work with all your USB devices.

disappointed on usb side2
I too thought that this bit of kit could be the solution to dragging all those chargers around the globe by using usb port instead. Unfortunately I was wrong. It does indeed seem to supply AC power instead, therefore draining my phone battery, forcing me to by a new charger whilst overseas. Have tried it on other devices and the same thing happens. Pointless really, to supply a usb adaptor on a travel plug which doesn't work. Save your money, or try and test them before buying.
