One of the Best Wrestlemania's.......5
Wrestlemania XIV is, along with Wrestlemania X, one of the best Wrestlemania's so far. For me this PPV really elevated the era of WWF Attitude. The event kicked off with a 15 team Battle Royal to crown the the #1 Contenders for the tag titles at the next PPV, Unforgiven. This one is a great opener with lots of action. Some of the teams are, the DOA, LOD, the Rock 'N' Roll Express, the Midnight Express, Too Much and the Godwins. In the best Light Heaveyweight title match I have seen, Augula (Essa Rios) would challenge Taka Michinoukou (the champion.) This one contains lots of high risk moves from and over the top rope. The quaility continues with Owen Hart challenging Triple H for the European title in another solid, entertaining bout. A slight setback would follow with Goldust and Luna taking on Marc Mero and sable in a Mixed Tag Match. Watchable, but not of the standard shown in the earlier matches. The Rock and Ken Shamrock would duel next for the Intercontinental title. This one is quite quick and is watchable, but the ending makes the match. Another title match would follow this with Chainsaw Charlie and Cactus Jack taking on the New Age Outlaws for the Tag titles. This one is match of the night, as it is the first Dumpster Match! Loads of Action and a good finish, make this the best on the card. Then we witness Kane and Undertaker go head to head for the first time. This one is entertaining, but perhaps a little disappointing in some peoples mind. Then the main event, Shawn Michaels defending the WWF title to Stone Cold Steve Austin. An entertaining match with again, like most matches, a good finish, involving enforcer Mike Tyson. This is a MUST for all fans.
