Survival Of The Sickest....
TNA isn't considered by many fans to be in the same league as WWE, but if any DVD separates Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling from the pack, so to speak, then this would be it.

"Best Of The Bloodiest Brawls Vol 1" does exactly what it says on the tin. It's a collection of the sickest, most violent and bloody matches in TNA history. And we're not just talking about a bit of blood here and there, no. The nature of some of these matches is that of an old-school ECW match or a Japanese "Death Match".

In this DVD, you will see wrestlers be driven through thumb-tacks, get ripped to shreds on barbed wire, be attacked by loaded staple-guns and generally lose enough blood to make a huge donation to the Red Cross.

Hosted by TNA announcers, Mike Tenay and Don West, this DVD features all the bloody brawls in their entire format (including the entrances and any post-match antics) and amongst the stars featured are Abyss, Jeff Hardy, Sabu, Rhino and many more.

This DVD also features claret-filled Cage Matches (AJ Styles VS Abyss, AJ Styles, America's Most Wanted VS Christopher Daniels and Elix Skipper), 2 Monster's Ball matches and a "House Of Fun" match (which is anything but for the combatents, Sean Waltman and Raven).

We also get to see the famous "Barbed Wire" Match between Abyss and Sabu. This truly takes brutality to a new level. If that's still not enough for gore-hounds, then you can check out Abyss getting his arm stitched up after the match and then see Raven get "scalped" by James Mitchell in a hair-cutting angle gone awry.

Overall, this is a superb collection of "blood n' guts" matches that obviously won't be to everyone's tastes. But if you can handle it, it's great entertainment. My only gripe is that the succession of matches highlights TNA's over-use of thumb-tacks (in WWE, they're used on rare occassions and are therefore, make more of an impact). I can't believe that Abyss would want to take that abuse on a regular basis.

TNA - The Most Extreme Matches
This is one of the best wrestling DVDs you will see. It features 10 of the most extreme matches in TNA so far. The two steel cage matches (America's Most Wanted vs Triple X, and AJ Styles vs Abyss)are outstanding. There are two excellent No-DQ tag matches (Raven and Sabu vs Jeff Jarret and Rhino, and Rhino and Team 3D vs Jarret and AMW). Raven vs Sean Waltman and Rhino vs Abyss vs Jeff Hardy vs Sabu are both wild, weapons filled, stunt matches. While the Dog Collar bout between Raven and Abyss and the Barb-Wire match between Sabu and Abyss are must sees.
