Synopsis
The title says it all. That's right, 15-0 in WrestleMania. The one, the only--Undertaker. Collected here are all the matches that were part of that amazing record as well as a host of bouts which paved the way to his ring domination. Included here are fights against the biggest names in the professional wrestling game, such as Triple H, Ric Flair, and collection of other opponents who were not quite big enough to take Undertaker down.
Customer Reviews
Good lookback at a magnificent achievement
No one has made WrestleMania as much an important highlight in their character and career like the Undertaker. His (to date) 17-0 record at WrestleMania is truly unmatched. It's an impressive streak over a "who's-who" list of the biggest legends in wrestling.
Because 15-0 was released in 2007, his classic bouts against Edge and Shawn Michaels are obviously not included. There are no extras, either, and quite a few bouts have been edited down to highlights so as all fifteen victories fit on one disc. Still, fantastic presentation and the subject matter make this DVD great for all Taker fans.
1-0
Vs. Superfly Jimmy Snuka
WrestleMania 7
No better place for the streak to begin than with a victory over the legendary Superfly. Unfortunately, Snuka was way past his best here and this is just an exhibition squash to show what the Undertaker could do. Still, the Dead Man really looked impressive, showing that he was a true star in the making. (6/10)
2-0
Vs. Jake `The Snake' Roberts
WrestleMania 8
The culmination of a great storyline that would transform Taker from unstoppable heel to amazing babyface. Unlike the first bout, this is NOT a squash with Jake getting a good deal of offence in. Bad pacing takes points away, but the huge victory here, along with Taker getting up TWICE from Roberts' DDT made this a grand success. (6/10)
3-0
Vs. The Giant Gonzales
WrestleMania 9
Never heard of the Giant Gonzales? Think the Great Khali, only TEN TIMES worse. Gonzales was just about the worst wrestler of all time. Absolutely irredeemable with a pathetic way for the Phenom to win. I mean, DQ? Really. (1/10)
4-0
Vs. King Kong Bundy
WrestleMania 11
Bundy was yet another true legend but sadly, he was also no longer in his prime here and the match-up wasn't what it deserved to be. Another positive boon for the Undertaker's streak, but it's a very passable bout and Kama's interference is just stupid. (4/10)
5-0
Vs. Diesel
WrestleMania 12
Some good build-up and Kevin's performance here made this a rather surprising contest. The formula of two big men having a great slugfest is quite a treat to watch. Future WrestleMania bouts would greatly surpass this one, but this is still a solid encounter. The victory over Nash would be Taker's biggest WrestleMania win at this point, making it rather noteworthy. (7/10)
6-0
WWE Championship Vs. Sycho Sid (Champion)
WrestleMania 13
When he was on, Sid was a remarkable character. However, only against the right opponent did he shine. The storyline here was virtually non-existent, and the match did drag. Nevertheless, the sheer physicality between the two giants was worth seeing. And everyone (me included) was thrilled to see the Undertaker finally get back on top. (7/10)
7-0
Vs. Kane
WrestleMania 14
The first real classic to emerge from the WrestleMania streak. The build-up to this confrontation was absolutely phenomenal. A godlike storyline and Kane's character being so fresh made this a true battle of the titans, with Taker receiving more punishment than one had ever conceived possible before. And the best was yet to come. (8/10)
8-0
Hell in a Cell vs. The Big Bossman
WrestleMania 15
The Bossman (RIP). Yet another legend, but these two had ZERO chemistry. The Ministry of Darkness was yet another exciting bit of development in the Undertaker character but this match is just so embarrassingly bad. An insult to the Hell in a Cell gimmick. (2/10)
9-0
Vs. Triple H
WrestleMania 17
For a long time, these two had had little to no interaction, but that all changed here. Triple H was truly in his prime, and the Undertaker had reincarnated as the American Bad Ass. This was a wild slugfest with the Dead Man's winning streak being mentioned for the first time, meaning its prestige was finally starting to form. A hell of a match and another classic that still stands to this day. (9/10)
10-0
No Disqualification Vs. Ric Flair
WrestleMania 18
Another confrontation that had such brilliant build-up, and man, did these two veterans deliver! Flair was 53 here and evidently still had it in him. Taker playing the heel certainly made things interesting and Arn Anderson's involvement was great. A terrific fight between two legends. (8/10)
11-0
Handicap Match Vs. Big Show and A-Train.
WrestleMania 19
Perhaps the most unusual of Taker's WrestleMania victories but pretty good actually. Basically another fight against two talented giants. Not really memorable, but there've been much worse WM bouts. And Nathan Jones' involvement at the end was fun. (6/10)
12-0
Vs. Kane
WrestleMania 20
For the second time, the Brothers of Destruction would wage war on the grandest stage of them all. This doesn't compare to their earlier confrontation but it's still a great spectacle as it signalled the Phenom's return to his Dead Man persona. (7/10)
13-0
Vs. Randy Orton
WrestleMania 21
Orton was in full swing here with his Legend Killer persona, so it was a natural for him to challenge the Undertaker at WrestleMania. The hype was superb and the bout was absolutely outstanding. This was the first time the streak was being teased at coming to an end and it very nearly happened. Bob Orton's interference added more quality to this cracking chapter. (9/10)
14-0
Casket Match vs. Mark Henry
WrestleMania 22
The problem with Henry has always been that he doesn't know how to effectively utilize his size and strength to perform well. Rather a `meh' bout. Worth watching, but ONLY because of the Dead Man. (5/10)
15-0
World Heavyweight Championship vs. Batista (Champion)
WrestleMania 23
Before the bout against Edge, then against Shawn Michaels, THIS stood as the greatest WrestleMania bout/victory in Taker's career. Perhaps Batista's finest match ever and an amazing rollercoaster ride with unbelievable chemistry. The outcome was truly deserved here. (9/10)
Although suffering from flaws, Undertaker 15-0 is a grand DVD that honours the importance of the WrestleMania streak. Not as essential as Tombstone, but still a worthy purchase.
Good Worth a Purchase!!
Undertaker 15-0 dvd is based on all of his wrestlemania matches up to Batista at Wrestlemania 23 expect it doesnt have the matches with Edge at wrestlemania 24 and Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 25 because it was released in 2007. Now on to the matches. The matches are all good but the big problem is that some of the matches are not shown in full and are joined in when at least 5 minutes have been progessed and their isnt even any extras included no promos or no build up to the matches. This is a major disapointment because when i purchased it i was looking foward to watching the build up to his older matches.
You cant fault WWE really because the DVD is 3 hours long and you cant fit everything in but i think they should have waited when undertaker reitired and then released the DVD because his Wrestlemania streak is big thing now and more people would have brought it because of the publicity and excitement surrounding his Wrestlemania Streak.
This looks like a rush job to me but it is worth purchasing because it does at least cover all his unbeaten 15 wrestlemania matches and their some belters like Vs Batista at WM 23, Vs Kane WM 14 and Triple H at WM X-7.
Now on to the list of matches i will give a rating between 1 to 10 :
vs. Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka
WrestleMania VII 7/10 this was quite good because back then Undertaker made his Wrestlemania debut and in the crowd the kids were actually scared of him. Gorilla Moonsoon And Bobby Heenan do a good job of making Undertaker look good. Undertaker destroys Jimmy Snuka.
vs. Jake "The Snake" Roberts
WrestleMania VIII 7/10 Again he Destroys Jake Roberts. Funny when Undertaker does a Tombstone on Jake Rpberts outside of the ring and his head doesnt even touch the floor. Funni how wrestling looked more fake back then compared to Now.
vs. Giant Gonzalez
WrestleMania IX 7/10 Undertaker wins by DQ. I actually was facinated by seening Giant Gonazalez geezer was massive. Watch out for the bit when Giant Gonzalez chokes out the Undertaker with Gasoline.
vs. King Kong Bundy
WrestleMania XI 1/10 Thats beening generous. Poor and slow Match. King Kong doesnt even do nuthing. Wow can you beleive it undertaker wins by doing his trademark clothesline. He didnt even do this Finshing Move The Tombstone. 4-0 now JUST ABOUT
Grudge Match
vs. Diesel
WrestleMania XII 9/10 One hell of Match this was. Two Jacknifes by Diesel aka Kevin Nash now known as and still Undertaker kicks out of. Big Moves by both Men. One of the better matches on the DVD
WWE Championship Match
vs. Sycho Sid
WrestleMania 13 8/10 It was quite good. Good moves here and there. Undertaker wins the WWF back known then championship
Brother vs. Brother Grudge Match
vs. Kane
WrestleMania XIV 10/10 for me personally the best match on the disc. Fantastic Entrances by both men all tho u dont get to see them here cus the match is shown when 5 mins has been elaspsed. Took 3 Tombstones for Undertaker to win. Seen the full match already.
Hell in a Cell Match
vs. Big Bossman
WrestleMania XV 5/10 was quite good. I liked to have seen the ending when big bossman is hanged by the cell but it has been edited out.
Grudge Match
vs. Triple H
WrestleMania X-7 9/10 Fantastic brawl. Undertaker in his home town Houston Texas deliverd big time on the big stage. Both men put their all. Best Wrestlemania.
No Disqualification Match
vs. Ric Flair
WrestleMania X-8 8/10 Flair getting busted open. Good Paint job lol. As for the match it was really good. This was very personal because before their match was set up Undertaker attacked Flair son so Ric Flair agreed to Wrestle The Undertaker.
Handicap Match
vs. Big Show & A-Train
WrestleMania XIX 7/10 Nothing to note here. Good moves here and there. Undertaker does a chokeslam on A-Train early on the match.
Interpromotional Match
vs. Kane
WrestleMania XX 9/10 Woah what a comeback by Undertaker. Kane sold the match well. Was bit short liked to have gone bit longer but it was good the amount of time it was given. Not as good as their Wrestlemania 14 match.
Legend vs. Legend Killer
vs. Randy Orton
WrestleMania 21 8/10 Good performance by The Legend Killer Randy Orton.
Casket Match
vs. Mark Henry
WrestleMania 22 2/10 Second worst match on the Disc. Was so Boring. Wasnt even exciting. The Only Good note is when the undertaker does a amazing dive over the top rope on Mark Henry.
World Heavyweight Championship Match
vs. Batista
WrestleMania 23 10/10 Personally Undertaker best match in his Wrestlemania streak except of course Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 25. Both men gave it all. So many near falls. Really thort Batista was going to win But in the end Undertaker wins to go 15-0.
DVD Rating 8/10.
Next time release a 2 disc dvd covering all his Wrestlemania matches in full from the entrances etc And at least include some promos and build up to the matches.
Worth a Purchase but dont buy it more than £10 pounds.
