Manufacturer's Description
Brought to you by Ready At Dawn Studios' Daxter is tailor-made for the PSP, capturing all the fun, style, great gameplay and wit of previous Jak and Daxter titles.

The story takes us back to the events that led to the start of Jak IITM. Jak has been imprisoned in Haven city jail, Daxter now on his own in an unfamiliar position, quickly realises that being small and furry won't help his chances of survival and it is time to get tough!

Daxter takes on a job as a pest exterminator to help stamp out a mysterious bug infestation, this new job allows Daxter freedom to roam across Haven City collecting information that could lead to the release of his incarcerated friend. However Daxter soon discovers that he'll get a little more excitement from his job than he originally bargained for!

Being a pest exterminator is hard work and a work shy Ottsell can't be expected to wipe out an entire infestation without conserving energy with some well timed naps can he?! As Daxter takes time off his bug squashing duties he invites you into his dreams where he is the hero in several playable movie themed mini games.

Daxter also features cross platform compatibility with Jak X on PlayStation 2, allowing gamers who own both titles to unlock new content. With over 17 levels and 13 minutes of hilarious cut scenes, this title is guaranteed to take gamers on a classic platform adventure.

PSP's Sonic5
After a number of poor games this was a breath of fresh air.

I already own and have enjoyed the 3 PS2 J&D titles.
At first glance I was dubious, I was sure there was no way this could match up to those original games on the PS2.

WRONG - this is one mother of a game. By far the best for the PSP at present. If you own a PSP do yourself a favour and buy this. If you know someone with a PSP do them a favour and buy this...

Living in hope that this is a sign of things to come...

The platforming action is frantic; the hunts for orbs fun. But by far one of the most enjoyable parts to this game has to be the mini-games. I will not ruin them here though I am sure others will have but all are hilarious and are a nice break from the frantic pace of the game.

Only once or twice did the refresh rate suffer - but with the graphics of the PS2 squeezed onto the disc it was barely noticeable.

Now where is Daxter 2.

Good fun platformer5
Good graphics, good level design, lots of fun. I never owned a PS2 so I haven't played any of the previous Jax and Daxter games. Judged on it's own merits this is a really good 3d platformer. Graphics are good, levels are well paced, not too hard, not too easy. The whole package is engaging enough to play from start to finish and enjoy the whole experience.

A great action platformer!5
I'm not really a fan of these type of games but Daxter has much more to offer than your standard Crash Bandicoot type platformer. Firstly the music, sound and graphics are outstanding!

The game basically involves completing several objectives on each mission. There's the main objective that has been laid out for you, which might consist of killing enemies, destroying insect hives, or collecting objects. As you're playing through, you can also choose to do two optional secondary objectives, which are reminiscent of Jak games of old, collecting Metal Bug gems and precursor orbs. Though the mission is generally straightforward, completing the secondary objectives can sometimes prove to be a real challenge. Fortunately, you only need to clear the main objective to progress the story, so you can always return to collect all the items later. Playing cleanup is also easier later, since you'll often have better weapons and moves to get through the level more quickly. In fact, the way this works is done extraordinarily well, giving you quite an incentive to play through again to hunt for all the items. There are also lots of funny film themed side games..matrix, braveheart and indiana jones are just some of the themes.

In a nutshell this game sets new standards for what the PSP is capable of, especially when it comes to graphics. Go and buy it now!
