Customer Reviews

Re-defining the sound of Star Trek5
One of the greatest of all Goldsmith scores and my personal favourite, this is certainly a highlight of an illustrious career - an enjoyable adventure that reminds you of the wonder of movie music. The score has meaning, rather than just being an accompaniment, which is why the themes stay with you long after you listen. The original album of this score has been deleted and replaced with this 2 CD Special edition. However, only one disc contains the actual score (at just fewer than sixty minutes), while the second disc is a fan-based homage to the show. Although missing a few enjoyable moments from the score such as 'Captain's Log', 'Red Alert' and 'Signalling the Creator', the CD remains a satisfying representation of the movie and endlessly playable. An absolute must for any remotely serious fan of film music.
