    UNBELIEVABLE !!!!!5
What a piece of kit.. do not hesitate if your considering a portable dvd player. The 10.2" TFT is crystal clear, feels sturdy, durable anf the whole package oozes quality. Dont be put of by the lack of a brand leaders name being on the cover, im led to believe Shinco produce many components for brand leaders to install in their machines and brand them their own.

The machine is a joy to use, and plays everything...EVERYTHING!! all DVD's regardless of region...-,+,RW,DIVX,VCD,MP3 and even MPG4 video from PC format. Ive yet to find a disk it doesnt play. It takes memory sticks and USB memory devices.

It comes with a super slim sexy remote control, a lithium battery that gives about 3hrs viewing or around 5 hours listening to music, loads of link up leads. You wont be disappointed.

The Best DVD at the right price5
The Shinco 1250 has a superb, crystal clear screen. Its big enough to watch (10.2") without having to stay glued to the screen like smaller players. I use mine in the kitchen and you can watch it like a TV while working. It has a good viewing angle- you dont have to be directly in front like some screens. It will play any DVD + or -, computer generated or home recorder. It does slide shows off your camera memory card(all types) or from Kodak type cd. Mp3 works great too with plenty of screen info during play.I haven't found anything it wont play.It will feed into your TV in a choice of ways and all the leads are supplied. I looked at loads of models in High Street stores but I gave up when the assistants knew less than me about different formats of DVD.
If you've been waiting for a quality machine - this is it!

    Shinco SDP-1250 Portable DVD player5
Having looked for quite a time, read reviews and physically examined a wide number of Portable DVD's at various price points and screen sizes I eventually decided that the Shinco SDP-1250 was for me -

I have not been disappointed -

It feels of high quality & is finished superbly. The screen has a good viewing deflection of about 15 deg each way without any colour / brightness distortion - ideal if sitting together on a plane or in the rear of a car !

For my taste the colours and brightness are perfect set at default but these can be easily changed.

All the Accessories come as listed + unlisted extras - 2 sets of earphones which give excellent sound and an anologue to scart adapter which works on both my TV's at home.

Just a note on the latter - the manual ( which is a little sparse on detail ) does not tell you how to connect the scart adapter - ( this part has been added later to the package )
To connect the DVD to the TV via scart - use the composite video cable - connect the mini plug to the AV out on the DVD - connect the yellow, white and red to the scart connector in - plug into TV.
On the DVD - 1.Put in a disc. 2. Press source -about once per second - this cycles through DVD, YPBR OUT, YCBR OUT,AUX IN and CVB'S & S-VIDEO OUT - once the latter appears leave it for approx 3 secs to assimilate and the DVD screen will appear on the TV.
This gives me an equal / better picture on the TV than my home fixed DVD player.

I have charged & run the battery to flat and it gave well over 3 hrs continuous play.

The remote is a very slim - shirt pocket - size and the signal is picked up by the player from a wide angle range.

On the subject of discs that the Shinco 1250 will play - it is easier to say it will play everything !!! and without fiddling with settings as it is Multi Region out of the box. I have tried MP3 Cd's, VCD's, cda CD's, DVD+R, DVD-R and DVD-RW.
I even have one DVD that 'jitters' on my home DVD player but plays perfectly in the Shinco !

As I have said previously - the screen picture quality is superb with a high tolerance to viewing angles both from the side and tilt.

The sound as it arrives with default settings is a bit "tinny" for my taste - too high a treble setting - but I have changed this to what - for me - is more than acceptable using the Digital Surround settings menu - I use the Classic tone and Living Room settings along with Virtual Surround.
You will not get the same quality or volume as a TV but it is comparable / better than most other Portables I have tested.

This Player also has the distinct advantage of having an AV IN socket which allows a Game console, Video camera etc to be connected - it also has a SD/Media slot for pictures from a Digital Camera PLUS a USB slot which can be used for a Pen drive for playing anything you have downloaded onto it - MP3's,JPEG's or MPEG Video files - excellent !

The 10" screen makes the whole viewing experience more enjoyable - albiet at a premium to smaller screens -

Without doubt this unit is worth the extra cost - over lower priced similar screen size players on offer - and as it stands is probably the best value for money Portable DVD Player on the market - ( check 3wisemonkeys price ) !

I can see no reason to pay more for a different brand and I can highly recommend the Shinco SDP-1250 10.2 inch.

I hope this helps in a small way if someone is trying to decide which one to buy - !
