Slimmer and more lightweight, its internal volume has been reduced by 75 percent, overall weight has been halved and the thickness trimmed down to 2.8cm (thickness of current model is 7.8cm). Its size is almost as small as a hardcover book, making it easier to carry around. Equipped with both a modem port and an integrated Ethernet port for network gaming, the new PlayStation 2 sets new standards in the fusion of design and functionality.

AMAZING CONSOLE
I have just bought one of these from amazon, arrived in PERFECT condition which is great, because ive got it as a spare/collectors item!!!

My favorite console of all time.
Next to the xbox 360, this console stands tall in reliability. Thought Amazon sent me a book on it's arrival but gratefully delivered a machine that eliminates all the old faults with previous versions.

If PS3 emulation remains poorly supported and PS3 library doesn't turn heads, I'll be back at Amazon for another few PS2's Should the PS2 discontinue.
No crashes, red lights of death freezes or background hoover suction. Hoo raah !

Wow!
Yep, one of the most horrid consoles return...but wait for it....in silver paintwork. Let's all jump up and cry in delight...not.

I feel I have rated it slightly unfairly compared to that of the XBOX 360 but I can't have 1.1 so the rating has been down-graded to that of the XBOX 360...sorry.

Pads are slightly more comfortable than the XBOX but again, it's the list of dull, pointless games that Sony so proudly talk about. 99% of them are tea coasters with no point in existing. I would imagine that every games company in the world look at the PS2 for releasing pointless, tacky games for making money out of silly gamers who buy this trash.

Like I said, XBOX is absolute rubbish. Sony is little better but they need a shed load of improvement.

Please steer clear...
