Amazon.co.uk Review
The latest outing from former Destiny's Child starlet Beyonce is an intentionally schizophrenic affair. Splitting herself into two separate characters--herself and alter ego Sasha Fierce--is the artist's way of presenting what she obviously sees as an artistic duality. The first set, I Am... is intended give a glimpse beneath the surface of her usual R&B-pop persona. Featuring recent single "If I Was a Boy," the soaring "Halo", and ballads like "Disappear", and "Ave Maria", it seems her "real" self is way more saccharine than the lady that brought us sassy pop moments like "Crazy in Love" and "Baby Boy". That side of her personality comes rushing back out on Sasha Fierce, a more rousing collection that kicks off with the infectious handclaps of "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)", ventures into Euro-dance territory with "Radio" and gets surprisingly risque with the voyeuristic "Video Phone". Which part of the album you enjoy most will depend on your musical proclivities, But the new, bifurcated Beyonce ensures there's enough diversity to satisfy the most demanding pop aficionado. --Danny McKenna
CD Description
'I Am.... Sasha Fierce' is the third studio album from the talented RnB star, Beyonce Knowles. Split into two separate discs, the incredible vocal ability of the former Destiny's Child singer is presented here in two halves. While one discportrays her fun and upbeat side, the other draws on the reflective, moody and passionate qualities that have always given her work so much depth. This remarkable follow-up to 2006's 'B'Day' includes the singles 'If I Were A Boy' and 'Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)', while this deluxe edition features five additional tracks.

Disappointing...
As everybody who posted here I love Beyonce and her vocals are just flawless so no wonder I was excited to get this album especially as it was so anticipated and because If I was Boy and Single Ladies were such great teasers. But unfortunately the album failed to deliver what these 2 songs promised. I was left confused to say the least - the album gets very very boring and tediuous in the middle or shall I say it just has coupel of songs that are good enough to keep me interested but the rest is just what seems to be album fillers, cheesy tasteless album fillers that swing between pop rock and self pittying ballads! 2 CDs with fillers does nto make for great music experience. Teh songs are very similar and with little or no substance. They feel forced and leave me cold. Shame - a performer like Beyonce with voices like hers is such a waste! I would not recommend this album to anyone - you are better off just downloadign the coupel of tracks that are worth the money.
Good album
Good album, not her best but still worth buying if you are a fan. It arrived really quickly too.
One day she will make an outstanding album
This album demonstrates that Ms Knowles is on her way to one day delivering a truly oustanding album. I bought her first album, Dangerously in Love, and could not believe how atrocious it was. It only had three good songs on it! This album is not typically R&B and is more pop but somehow it works.
The best songs for me are If I were a boy, Halo, Ave Maria, Smash into you, Single Ladies (Put a ring on it), Hello, Scared of Lonely.
I would say Sasha Fierce is weaker than I am... because it is more disjointed in terms of musical style. Also, I expected Sasha Fierce to be completely uptempo with Divaesque attitude and only half the songs manage to achieve that.
Overall, it is an album that I keep listening to because it showcases her powerful voice very well, several of the songs are mesmerising, enticing and are forever etched into your memory.
The rousing chorus of Halo left me intoxicated and I listen to the song repeatedly. It is the best song on the album and one of the best songs that she has ever recorded in my opinion.
