About the Author
Frances and Michael Howorth have sailed together extensively aboard their own boat for more than 20 years, in both home and blue water cruising areas around the world. They now work together as Captain & Chief Stewardess aboard large yachts and are frequent contributors to many UK and US yachting magazines. Frances holds an RYA Yachtmaster Ocean Certificate and has been sailing the high seas since the 1970s, undertaking several transatlantic crossings and many yacht delivery voyages. Michael became a professional yacht captain in the 1990s and holds a Master's Certificate for yachts up to 3000 tons. He first went to sea in the late 1960s and served aboard passenger liners as well as the British Royal Navy Reserve.
