Very Poor1
I believe it was Ishi who said something on the lines of 'you can make a good bow out of any wood', the wood used to make the paper of this book would have been better put to use trying to make a good bow for it didn't make a good book and I am not blaming the wood. Even though the chapters are clearly defined as to their subject, the content disappears in all directions without ever getting anywhere The good part of the book are the pictures, albeit these are ruined by the captions. The whole book appears to have been written around these images, which look to have been taken at a master bowyers place of work. Some excellent photographs of bow string being made, but no comment on how they are produced, everything in the book is remarked as being simple to do, yet when he tries to explain you are lost in his own inadequacies to stick to one point and the apparent lack of knowledge. The chapter on bow safety is marred by the photographs of the author shooting off his bicycle in an earlier chapter. The title and the content had great potential...
