Great Package
I'm a real beginner and was pleased with this package. It has everything a beginner needs. The guitar looks and feels wonderful. The amp is small but works well and is lots of fun when it's switched to drive mode. The stand and bag are good and the DVD is easy to follow and gets you up and running quickly. I've already got blistered fingers after only a couple of days. I've got big fingers and am finding it difficult to hold down just one string but I should imagine all guitars are like this. It's so easy to get interesting sounds out of this guitar. Loads of variety of sounds by using the 5 position pick up switch. You will need to order a different tuner as the one supplied doesn't work. Was O.K. the first time but now it doesn't work on the 2 lowest strings. Seems a common problem with the cheap included tuners so spend another tenner and get one that works. It improves the confidence when you play an instrument that is in tune. Have fun!
great stuff
first guitar i ever got, along with teh amp and nowdays ive played fernandes and bc rich and epiphones and gibsons and stratocaster, the works but i still comeback to this guitar, strached and beaten as it may be, it still plays very well considering teh price
and the amp?
well i play 80's metal and i can get a very very good sound for that style with this amp, i play motley crue and dio and judas priest, and i found this amp you can get good enough sound and gain to play that stuff and still do harmonic squeals in all that
heres my setting, the volume is about 3-4
the treble is on 5 somtimes 6
and the bass is about 2 - 3
try it out
Good Starter Kit - Badly Packaged
Bought this after reading other recommendations. Along with others this looks like a good starter kit. I'm 47 and looking for a new challenge so I'll be the next Jimmy Page. My problem is the way it was packaged for transit. All items came in a large box. All were loose inside the box and looked like someone had just grabbed the biggest box possible and put all the articles in and just sealed it with some corporate tape. Plus, there are no plectrums in the kit but they are advertised as part of it. I'm sure Amazon can do better than this. This is the first time I've been let down by Amazon with shoddy packaging.
