Active Vision LCD Picture Processing
Colour – MPEG noise reduction and 8-BIT colour gamut processing produces screen images with much smoother colour gradation and a reduction in the ‘blocking’ effect that is often noticeable with large areas of colour of a similar detail – both high definition and standard definition images are produced with increased detail compared to conventional LCD televisions. Complex up-scaling technology allows every available pixel to be utilised and intricate lines and detail are produced without jagged edges thanks to complex de-interlacing technology.

 

Movement – our Real Speed Continuous Progressive technology removes motion blur and maintains the benefit offered by progressive scan over interlaced image technology. This giant leap forward in the rendering of fast moving objects is particularly attractive to sports fans and overcomes the blurring often found with conventional LCD televisions.

Contrast – Active Vision LCD constantly monitors and adjusts the contrast levels required by the original signal. The system works in harmony with our Dynamic Contrast feature to produce the optimum contrast levels; dramatically increasing black levels in dark scenes without compromising bright white levels in lighter more colourful scenes.

Dynamic Contrast
Go! od picture detail depends on getting the right balance betwee! n bright ness and contrast. Our Dynamic Contrast technology automatically adjusts the LCD backlight depending on the level of brightness required. Dimming the backlight enables the system to reproduce fine detail and more realistic dark scenes, without compromising brightness levels in lighter, more colourful scenes. Increasing the brightness of the backlight in bright scenes will give images more intensity whilst retaining the contrast essential for great detail.

HDMI connectivity
The High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI)
is now regarded as the industry standard for connecting modern audio visual components, having replaced SCART as the connection of choice. Bought this model at the start of May, replacing a 28" toshiba flat screen.

For the price, it's unbeatable, if you've had a end generation CRT toshiba before, then the menu is the same and the remote aswell - so an easier change over. Menu speed is good unlike Samsung lcd's which take forever to flick between channels.

The picture is good, dependent on what you have connected - I have an xbox360 connected with compnents, which makes the picture very dark indeed
(probably needs hdmi cable). Yet to try anything hdmi, but the freeview is brillaint.

The sound is good, but could do with surround sound (as they all do).

Very similar to the samsung range in apprearance, although this has a slightly more squared edge to it, but still nice.
Attracts dusts like nobodys business.

very good choice, good picture and sound, the only thing that stoppes me giving it 5 stars is the remote control which is not the best in the world, the reaction from the tv is very slow, and yet when using the sky remote the action is instant, so it as to be the toshiba remote.
