Form over function
Great little piece of design in that it looks a lot more funky than many other cases for portable discs, however, it is plastic and as such does not dissipate heat as fast as metal, or have as much impact resistance.

I love it, but do wonder how long it will last, especially as it is only held together by one tiny screw!

Cool ripple shape, super-fast, easy to setup and a joy to use!
I'm not sure why the other reviewers give so much importance to the 'ugliness' of this item, especially since there is a very clear photo of it on the Amazon listing - if you don't like the looks of it, don't buy it guys!

Personally I'm not bothered about its looks, I could even say I like the ripple effect.
However, looks are not what a review should be about. This enclosure is so cheap, you'd think it's a fake, and yet it is brilliant.

It's a DIY enclosure, you insert the little circuit board and make sure it clips in place, place and connect the 2.5" hard drive of your choice inside, and stick the supplied padding stickers on the bottom cover and on the back so that the drive is secure and padded. A little screw is supplied to seal the bottom cover, et voila, you have an external hard drive!

It works like a charm, it is recognised and installed by Windows in seconds, and tops at 31MB/sec (which is I believe the max for my WD drive anyway).
The best feature is that it powers the hard drive through the USB port, so no need for additional power cords or adapters. External hard drives like the WD Passports that are powered via USB cost so much more than the standard ones, making this enclosure a bargain when combined with any 2.5" hard drive of your choice!

Overall, a great purchase! I still can't believe it's so cheap for all it offers.

Brilliant little enclosure and excellent value! Easy to set up, plugged in ready to go! Work great with Windows 7.
Tip - If you drive doesnt show in My Computer, make sure the disk is formatted (Control Panel -> Computer Management -> Disk Management).

I would not hesitate in recommending it. And the ripple effect looks very cool!
