In this fully updated paperback edition of the Sunday Times bestseller, Jonny Wilkinson opens up to reveal what it is like to be the world's most famous rugby player and an international sporting superstar. MY WORLD is a fascinating insight into his motivations, thoughts, hopes and fears as he discusses topics as far ranging as playing for England, his all-time heroes, becoming a celebrity, what it is like to be on the pitch with the hopes of a nation resting on your shoulders and in your feet and the positives that could be taken from the 2005 Lions Tour.
For the first time, Jonny Wilkinson talks openly about the England World Cup campaign and the pressure he was under in those dramatic final moments when he won the cup for his country. Two years on he also reveals the battles he has had to face to bring himself back to full fitness as England build their team round him in preparation for the 2007 World Cup.

About the Author
Jonny Wilkinson became England's youngest international for 71 years when he made his debut at fly-half at 18 years old in March 1998. In the 2003 World Cup he was the competition's leading points scorer with 113 points in six games, and overall he is England's all-time scorer with 817 points from his 52 caps to date. He has also won five British Lions caps. He was awarded the MBE in January 2003, the youngest rugby player of all time to achieve this honour.

Inspiring in Parts
He's dedicated to his sport, hates publicity and is very down to earth. Compared to other autobiographies, this book is not as interesting. But, then again, he's still very young and hopefully there will be a few more chapters about his future success.
If you are really into Rugby, I suppose you will love this book, but if Rugby is just a mild interest, it will not be as good as read as I hoped it would be. Saying that, it will demonstrat the dedication and focus you need to reach the top. So, for aspiring Rugby players, buy it!
Photographic homage to England hero
Jonny Wilkinson comes across as an intelligent chap and he's written miles of newspaper columns, so I was expecting this book to contain plenty of insight into his training techniques and the World Cup campaign. Unfortunately in reality it consists mostly of lots of large colour photos of Jonny in various outfits, looking as if he's posing for Kays catalogue, with precious little text.
Perhaps this effort was just rushed out for the Christmas market but it's disappointing and seems more like something you would expect David Beckham to produce.
An Excellent Book
I bought this as a Christmas present for my husband who is into his rugby and also because my kids are too! Although I'm not as mad on rugby as them, I thought i'd have a quick read as Johnnys quite a hunk and there are some great pictures of him in this book. However, I started reading bits of it and found it so fascinating that I couldn't put it down! It's a great insight into Johnny's mind and an inspiration for any young would-be rugby players. I'm really glad I bought it for him and would wholeheartedly recommend this to all Johnny fans.
