Mog was tired. She was dead tired...Mog thought, 'I want to sleep forever.' And so she did. But a little bit of her stayed awake to see what would happen next. A beautifully illustrated story with a new cover reissue that bids a fond farewell to everyone's favourite family cat. Mog keeps watch over the upset Thomas family, who miss her terribly, and she wonders how they will ever manage without her. Nothing happens for some time!then suddenly, one day, Mog sees a little kitten in the house. The kitten is frightened of everything -- noise, newspapers, bags and being picked up. Mog thinks the kitten is very stupid. But then Mog realises that the nervous kitten doesn't know how to play and just needs 'a little bit of help'. And so, Mog pushes the surprised kitten into Debbie's lap, where it finds it actually likes being tickled and stroked. The new family pet is settled in at last. But Debbie says she will always remember Mog. 'So I should hope,' thinks Mog. And she flies up and up and up right into the sun.

Mog will be missed
Mog is tired, dead tired so she sleeps forever. After Mog dies her spirit stays around to look after the new kitten.
This is a wonderfully written story about a very delicate subject. Mogs thoughts on the new kitten are lovely and just what you would expect from such a well loved character. Mogs death is dealt with very well and I know several people who have got this book for their children after the death of a loved one, not just a pet.
It brought a tear to my eye having grown up with Mog. With luck we will be seeing stories about the new kitten.
Sensitive tale, perfectly pitched for children
I work with children and am a longtime fan and collector of the MOg books, and was absolutely heartbroken when I first saw this one. Soon after, my own beloved old moggie died, and I knew this was a must, especially as the children I nanny for (ages 5 and 2) often asked about my cat and I knew I would have to break the news to them. This book helps with that in a sensitive and prefectly judged way, it answered some questions for them and stimulated a healthy discussion - the only problem was that I struggled to keep back my own tears when reading it! However, I can thoroughly recommend it for children or even as a thoughtful gift for anyone who has recently lost a beloved family pet, this book comforted me as well as the children.
Goodbye Mog (we will all miss you)
This is the last in the seriese on Mog books by Judith Kerr, and I'm sure though we will all miss Mog, no-one will ever forget her and she will live on through many more generations. I loved Mog when I was small and my daughter (5) loves Mog too. In this book it deals with Mog and her family, and what happens after she dies. Mog was tired, She was dead tired......she wanted to sleep forever, and so she did. It deals with death in a way that even small children won't fear, it shows that Mog was happy, and that her family didn't forget her just because they couldn't see her anymore. It shows that it is ok to cry, and that life does indeed carry on. A great help if a loved pet (or maybe even person) is coming to their end, it can assist in explaining death and even though when I initially borrowed this book from the library the librarian gave a warning that it may be upsetting, my small daughter who was only 3 at the time was fine and felt happy that Mog was ok. I haven't found anyone (big or small) that it has upset. All in all a great book.
