Synopsis
The epic and action packed sequel to The Whale Road, charting the adventures of Orm and his band of Viking brothers, The Orthsworn A band of brothers, known as the Oathsworn, committed only to each other, feared by many, rises again, setting sail on the wolf sea in search of vengeance and glory. Washed up in a hostile city, battle-weary and out of luck, the Oathsworn lie waiting for their reluctant leader, the young Orm, to bring them back once more to wealth and warfare. But Orm's prized sword, the legendary Rune Serpent, is gone, stolen by the rapacious Starkad, and with it the runes writ upon the hilt that only Orm can decipher. The Oathsworn embark on a dangerous mission to reclaim their precious sword as they pursue the elusive Starkad across the turbulent wolf sea. Unafraid to fight and cunning in the ways of men, they wreak violence and bloody revenge on their enemies. Caught up in the treacherous battles in the East between the rulers of Constantinople, aided by hordes of Viking mercenaries, and the Arabs, their adventures will take them from Greece to Jerusalem, across the treacherous wolf sea where only the hunting hungry dare set sail.Epic adventure broad in scope and bloody in action, The Wolf Sea is a stunning follow-up to Robert Low's debut The Whale Road.

The Oathsworn Sail again
Rob's second release and one that really will keep you glued to the pages until the last line as the Oathsworn (Robs version of the Dirty Dozen and Wild Geese all rolled into one) take on everything that is thrown at them in their quest to rescue shipmate as well inducting others into their ranks, all to regain the blade of Atil from the thieves lead by an old enemy. Cracking, enticing and above all a rolicking adventure that takes the reader through the Great Green as if they were sailing with the Oathsworn themselves with the detail contained making the reader feel the spray of the sea upon their faces. Beautifully crafted, skilfully managed and above all a tale that will live on, many will be the amused faces in the Odinhall when they hear of this brave band of Mauraders.
The Oathsworn return
The Wolf Sea is the sequel to robert Low's bestselling first novel The Whale Road. It continues the tale of the Oathsworn - a band of viking mercenaries and their young leader Orm who are out on the hunt for plunder and glory. In this story the band travel to the Middle east in the search of Orm's stolen sword and its thief Starkad. This is a novel of hardship suffering and brutality, where the author rarely bothers to spare the details.
This is a very enjoyable read and easy to get into, however at times Orm's wanderings do seem to be a little aimless and it lacks the spark that the Whale Road had from the very first page. Despite this the sequel is far from a dissapointment, I would recommend it to anyone and I eagerly await the third book in the series.
The Oathsworn.
Orm and his crew, the Oathsworn, continue their adventure to Serkland in search of the Rune Serpent and Starkad. There are plenty of heroics and fighting on their travels, the stuff saga-tales are made of. Orm's Odin-luck is tested to the full by Loki and the Norns keep weaving his fate.
Excellent follow up to the Whale Road, I read this book in 5 days. If you're interested in Norse adventure, read this book!
