What's Your Brain Type?
Do you watch the clock constantly, or wait until the rumble of your stomach
reminds you it's time to take a break? Do people say you are `down to
earth' or `up in the clouds'? These characteristics are associated with
your brain type. Typically, dominant left-brainers are meticulous, precise,
organised and think things through practically and logically. They feel
happier when they have guidelines, rules and schedules to follow. On the
other hand, right-brainers are dreamers. They are often more spontaneous,
imaginative and intuitive than cautious left-brainers and tend to follow
their gut feelings.
Most of us are neither strongly logical nor strongly intuitive but
somewhere in between - and that's perfectly normal. Everyone is different
and has characteristics of both types. Though right-brain thinking is often
regarded as more `creative' than left-brain thinking, there is no right or
wrong here. They are merely two different forms of thought process. One is
not better than the other, just as being right-handed is not `superior' to
being left-handed.
What's important is to stretch your mind by trying out different ways of
thinking. Whatever your natural preference, your brain will be stimulated
by these exercises. If you are strongly practical and logical (left brain),
pay particular attention to the creativity, communication and memory
exercises. If you are strongly intuitive and creative (right brain), the

Fantastic for mental stimulation
This is the just the kind of book I needed after the Christmas and New year slow down. It's packed full of exercises and quirky tips to jump start your brain and help you see things from a new perspective. Carol Voderman has done a fantastic job here. This is a book I shall turn to over and over again throughout the year for mental stimulation.
Over-rated
I bought this book, hoping to improve my mental agility. My particular interest is in mental arithmetic, and performing fast calculations.
I have never been fooled into believing this author is particularly good at mental arithmetic, despite the reputation she has for being so.
I was hoping to gain some tips for a general improvement in mental agility. Sadly this was not to be. In fact I feel the vast majority of the book was a complete waste of time reading.
I have found this book a complete waste of time, and
