Synopsis
Every Jury has a leader, and the verdict belongs to him. In Biloxi, Mississippi, a landmark trial with hundreds of millions of dollars at stake begins routinely, then swerves mysteriously off course. The jury is behaving strangely, and a least one juror is convinced he's being watched. Soon, they have to be sequestered. Then, a tip from an anonymous young woman suggests she is able to predict the juror's increasingly odd behaviour. Is the jury somehow being manipulated, or even controlled? If so, by whom? And, more importantly, why?

My Favourite Grisham Novel5
This is without a doubt my favourite of the Grisham novels. I was mesmorised from beginning to end. The concept of engineering a trial is not a new one, but this is done in a way where reader is left in doubt of how the trial will evolve and what the eventual outcome will be.

The main characters of Fitch, Nick & Marlee are fabulous, and the interplay between Fitch and Nick is excellent. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what would happen and how the trial would proceed.

But please please please read the book before you watch the film. The subject of the trial in the book is completely different and while hollywood did a good job of capturing the suspense and feel of the characters, i think the film producers missed the point of the end of this book so decided to re-write it in true hollywood style.

boring rubbish!1
Boring, tedious, drawn out rubbish! I kept reading this book, even though i was bored to tears, thinking it would surely get better, at least have an exciting ending - HOW WRONG I WAS! It is one of those books you force yourself to keep reading in the hope of it becoming at least half decent, only to be left wishing you hadn't bothered when you finish it! RUBBISH RUBBISH, UNBELIVEABLE DULL AND DISAPPOINTING

Smoke them out!4
Just a rip roaring good read. Makes me glad I never touched a ciggy in my life. Grisham's skill in taking an otherwise dull trial where experts espouse detailed and barely understandable terminology and turning it into something fast paced and exciting is truly remarkable.

I have to admit that of late I have been rather dissapointed by Grisham's work, particularly his novel the Summons for its incessent repetition of points already communicated ad infinitum, but this novel is certainly among his best.
