About the Author
Linda Chapman lives in Leicestershire with her husband, daughters and two Bernese Mountain dogs. She learnt to ride when she was three and her first pony was a very stubborn Welsh Mountain pony called Swizzle, who she used to imagine was a unicorn but who unfortunately behaved nothing like Twilight! When she is not writing she spends her time training dogs and teaching drama - and of course riding whenever she can.

My secret Unicorn: Starlight Surprise
As a reader I have thoroughly enjoyed each novel taking about 45 minutes to read each book. Obviously you might have an advantage if you enjoy learning and listening to pony stories. If you are not so into ponies it often teaches you about coping with sensitive snags in life. I chose Starlight Surprise because it was my first book I bought and my favourite. Unlike you might find in some books if you buy the 4th book in a series you might not understand a word of it, but the beauty of my Secret Unicorn is Linda Chapman (in all her books) recaps information from the previous books that you might need to know. In this novel Lauren's brother Max seems to be having nightmares about some treehouse in a deserted creek that both he and his friends are worried about. She tells her friends about this and it turns out the whole school thinks the treehouse is haunted!
Lauren is not sure what to believe because she at first did not believe in unicorns and they were real. Maybe it is the same with ghosts as well? Lauren goes close to the treehouse a few times for certain reasons and catches on to a certain plot to do with the treehouse and greed. Is the treehouse really haunted?
I certainly recommend this book to all aged around 10 like me and for anyone else. It is really really exciting!

Moonshine-a new unicorn!
Lauren has a big secret: when she says the Turning Spell, Her pony Twilight transforms, in a puff of purple smoke, into a beautiful, magical unicorn. At the local stables, there is a horse who looks just like Twilight, and Lauren is sure that she is a unicorn. She knows that to become a unicorn, Moonshine must have a unicron friend to whisper the words of the spell. But who? Then suddenly, she sees a boy called Michael comes to stay, and Lauren suddenly has an idea. What about Micheal?! But how is she going to get him to believe without telling him?

Another magical adventure!
I love these books but this one must be my favourite. When Lauren whispers the words of the turning spell her pony Twilight transforms into a snow white unicorn! On an outing Lauren meets Moonshine. A pony almost identical to her pony Twilight. Lauren is sure that Moonshine isn't just an ordinary pony. She is in fact a unicorn and she needs a unicorn friend. Lauren and Twilight are stunned when they see Michael. He loves Moonshine to bits and Lauren and Twilight are determined to show Michael that Moonshine is really a magical unicorn! But how? This is another great book by Linda Chapman. Every chapter makes me want to read more. This book will fire your imagination!
