Customer Reviews

fantastic book with wonderful rhymes & illustrations5
What more can I say? We found this book in the library (as it's illustrated by Adrian Reynolds who also did Harry and his bucket full of dinosaurs)and had to buy it! The words are delightful and we love the build up as Sam picks up more and more characters with his kite.... Is Sam big enough to fly the kite on his own? It's a joy to read again and again and again.

Lively, pacy and empowering story fror pre-schoolers.5
This story is great for 2-5 year olds, as a previous reviewer has said. What we love about it, is the observation that children of this age clearly understand: Caring adults can be over protective towards their children while at the same time, they may be quite reckless themselves. At the end, Sam essentially says 'I told you I could do it' to his cautious Dad who had underestimated his boy's ability to keep a kite under control.

Bigger5
My 22 month old daughter's book of the moment. She loves to shout out "bigger" at the appropriate point (at the end of every rhyme). We've read it so many times I can recite it by heart... and I'm thankful it's NOT one of those annoying ones that gets on your nerves like some do. At the top of mine, as well as daughter's, current favourites!
