By 1998, Jill and Jeff Cahill's marriage was already over. With a divorce pending, his life was in shambles. Then, a pre-dawn argument between them came to an end when Jeff crushed her skull with an aluminum baseball bat. Fearing her testimony in an assault trial, he slipped unnoticed into her Syracuse hospital room and gave her a dose of potassium cyanide, killing her instantly. Customer Reviews

One of the best books l have read for a long time!4
An amazing and incredible story of a man who wanted to get rid of his wife. Divorce... we say? Too easy for Jeff.
Jeff Cahill beat his wife to a pulp with a base-ball bat. She lay in a coma for weeks, then started to recover.
Worried that she was now capable of testifying against him, he dressed up as a cleaner and forced a lethal dose of cyanide down her incumbent neck and killed her.
Then the story starts...
A riveting story, well told. And as scary and upsetting as all these stories are when you consider the children, families and friends of the victim. But the killers never do.
And also a sad reality is that, in America, if you kill some-one and steal her/his purse/wallet you can expect the death penalty. If you just kill some-one... life..13.25 years.
I feel for Jill's family.
I feel for all victims.
None of which are murderers.
