Synopsis
Lizzie Nichols has a problem, and it isn't that she's blowing her college graduation money on a trip to visit her long-distance boyfriend Andy in London. She just can't keep anything to herself, including her indignation at finding out her beloved boyfriend wasn't completely faithful to her during their separation. She's now out on the streets with no money and a non-changeable airline ticket home for exactly a month away. Fortunately, Lizzie's best friend, Shari, comes to the rescue. She's spending the summer in the South of France catering weddings in a romantic sixteenth century chateau, and she's able to sort Lizzie out with a job. One glimpse of the gorgeous Chateau Mirac, not to mention the equally gorgeous son of the owner, and Lizzie is hooked.

Read it 3 times.5
Its hard to put down, I got this book on holiday in spain 4months ago i didnt want to go in the pool until id finished reading the book!

couldnt put it down!!!4
really enjoyed this. this is the first of meg cabot books that she has written for adults and she totally got it bang on. totally identified with main character as i graduated 5 years ago and i still have no idea what i wanna do. felt lizzie was a very true to life character.

the story flowed so well and you couldnt put it down. a very honest representation of a 22 year old female just entering the world!!!

Very Breathless!!5
I read this book in a day (well a day and a bit) because i seriously couldn't put it down. And i don't mean that in a metaphorical way i mean it flowed so easily and moved so quickly that there never seemed a right moment in the narrative to take a break! Reading this novel was like shopping in the trafford centre, on a very unique sale day, where everything is something you like; even though sometimes u might want to stop because your feet are hurting or because you're hungry and want to stop for food or a drink you know that there is something wonderful around the corner and you just can't stop yourself. You think "right after this chapeter i'll put it down, oh no wait i'll just read this bit."

It's bittersweet really because while the book is so entertaining and so breathless it pulls you along with it and you enjoy yourself, i read it so quickly that it was over, done, and there was nothing more left to read, no more of the story to discover and no more laughs to be had. I don't read Meg Cabot's children's stories and i'm of the same age group as the people in the book 23, and like the main character i'm desperately trying to finish my degree (i have a point i promise!) so the swearing and the sex scenes (there are only 2, although i'm not sure you could call one of them a sex scene) didn't bother me. But the way Lizzie thinks and the way she acts i relate to very much, Meg cabot has captured very well the soul of a 22 year old overly energetic young girl. And although the main characters are all american it isn't as annoying as you might think as the american quirks are the funny ones we like and they are kept to a minimum so lizzie is indeed very likeable. And the plot is very funny although obviously it follows along in all the classic chick lit traditions (come on we all knew who she was gonna end up with!). But we all love it. You don't pick up a chick lit book expecting your world to be changed but they are fabulous and deserve way more respect than the term chick lit implies.

A very fun, quick, breathless, chicky-type read. Won't change your world, will entertain and keep you interested, and the quotes at the beg of each chapter are very smile inducing.
