Product Description

John Wimber, who died in November 1997, is best-known as a great evangelist, a huge influence on the charismatic movement world-wide and a pioneer of church planting. A former rock-musician with the ‘60s band The Righteous Brothers, he later founded the Association of Vineyard Churches and in the ‘80s lectured at Fuller Theological Seminary. His books were bestsellers. This book sheds light on the man behind the public persona and Carol does not gloss over the darker points of their time together: the near breakup of their marriage in 1961 before they became Christians, and John’s courageous battle with cancer in the ‘90s. Essential reading for all Wimber fans and all who wish to know more about this spiritual giant of the twentieth century.

John Wimber - The way he was5
Written from his wife's perspective, this book provides an honest and emotional view on the man behind the ministry. The first few chapters relate to Johns childhood and some might feel they are a waste of words. However, our lives are shaped by our upbringing, therefore this information is vital in understanding who John Wimber was. This is a story about an ordinary man who, through a simple faith in God, led an extraordinary life. This book should inspire you to go out and 'do the stuff'.

A great review of an amazing man5
This book gives an unique insight into the life of possibly the most influential person in church history in the 20th century. Written by his wife, it gives a behind the scenes view and helps us to understand more about Wimber. It is a very honest and candid book. I would personally miss the first chapter, but the rest is excellent.
