Synopsis
Amateur sleuth Jordan Poteet, a librarian from Mirabeau, Texas, is pitted against his former girlfriend, whose Yankee corporatiion threatens to wreak industrial havoc on his Southern hometown.
From the Author
When I'm up North, I fib and tell folks THE ONLY GOOD YANKEE
is a baseball book--just so they won't give me a hard
time about the title. Actually, it's probably the
most "traditional" of my mysteries, with a puzzle of
a plot. It also features a romantic triangle from hell,
a semi-mad bomber (who considers mailboxes a tempting target), a murder with barbed wire, and potshots at environmentalists AND developers both. If you like your
mysteries with all that and a bit of attitude, I hope
you'll give THE ONLY GOOD YANKEE a try.
Customer Reviews
Green Acres mysteries?
Disappointed with this.Weak story, weak characters, with little suspense, set in an imaginary small town in the southwestern U.S.A,where everyone in the whole town seems to have bizarre ante-bellum names.I don't know if the author is trying to poke fun at the people ,but given the story has more air in it than a souffle,he should drop it.
Fantastic
I started this series with do unto others this guy is great he gets you drawn in so far you cant stop reading till you know who did it and wow what a twist each time, i have to say i am hooked, more consistent than Harlan Coben, and i would say probably on a par with James Patterson for keeping you guessing even when you think you know the ending!! I would recommend anyone to read this guys books and you dont even really need to read them in order as he some how seems to be able to explain every detail from the previous story without dragging the book out, A**
Engrossing and hilarious.
Mr. Abbott could be writing about my hometown. I kept thinking, "I know this person," each time a new character appeared. What a riot!
