Product Description

Allen Carr's Easy Way To Control Alcohol marks a landmark in our understanding of why alcohol has such a grip on our society and offers the solution to anyone who sincerely wants to turn their back on a problem that ruins lives, tears families apart, fuels crime and costs the economy billions of pounds every year. Allen Carr has established himself as the world's greatest authority on helping people stop smoking and his internationally best-selling THE EASYWAY TO STOP SMOKING has sold over 3 million copies in over 20 languages. In Easy Way To Control Alcohol, he now turns his revolutionary method to the question of drinking and offers a startling new view of why we drink and how we can escape from the 'alcohol trap'. Allen Carr's Easyway To Control Alcohol is bold and controversial and takes issue with many experts in the field and much received wisdom.

Synopsis
In 1983, after countless failed attempts to give up smoking, Allen Carr discovered his unique technique for tackling and overcoming his addiction. He has since given up a successful career as an accountant to build a global reputation and network of clinics to help others in the same situation. His common-sense approach can now be used with equal success to beat alcohol addiction. 'I won't try to tell you how or why this method is so effective. All I will say is that by the time you have finished reading the book, the great mystery in your life will be why you couldn't see it so clearly before.' Emanual Johnson

Cynical exploitation?1
This book appears to be just a rehash of Allen Carr's "Easy Way to Stop Drinking", cynically released with a new title, to attract those who dream of being able to control their drinking. Of course, this book won't enable you to do any such thing. Like the other book, it simply suggests that you should stop drinking altogether.

It rather looks as though, now that Allen Carr is dead (of lung cancer), those who have taken over the Allen Carr industry are afraid to let go of the goose's golden eggs - and so keep recirculating his ideas under different titles.

The best book I have read on alcohol so far5
I say so far as I have only read a few but I would be happy to read more if I got as much out of them as this. Its an excellent read and leads you through the myths and traditions of alcohol and breaks them down. It really opens your eyes to how ridiculous drinking is and such a waste of precious senses and self belief. I love his views about everyone being a problem drinker - just in a different place on the slippery slope. And I love the idea that alcohol is a con - promises so much but delivers nothing except illness and damage. If it falls down in one place for me its taste. One of the primary points of the book is that alcohol tastes bad and I'm sure in its raw state it does. But most alcoholic drinks taste delicious to me and every time I read "foul tasting" it just jarred with my real experience. But I have new hope and this book has given me much of that.

Simply amazing!5
Having been a very heavy drinker for more years than I care to remember (and some of them I can't remember!) I bought this book in August 2006. Before I got even a quarter of the way through, I knew I'd never drink again. I finished the book and re-read it just to make sure that the penny had dropped and now, 18 months later, I still haven't touched a drop nor have I the slightest desire to.

It doesn't feel as though I've given up drinking, it feels as though I never even started - no will power required. I don't know how it works but I know it works!!

My advice to anyone thinking of buying the book is go out and buy it today - start reading - the sooner the better.
