Synopsis
This is the first in a trilogy charting the romance of two people who "meet" on-line. It offers the irresistible opportunity to eavesdrop on their increasingly intriguing conversations. With each e-mail exchange the faceless pair come alive.

E-mail Cliffhanger
...the ending is very good, as it makes you want to find out more about how the relationship is going to end.
I thought that the idea of making up the 'book' by e-mail design was pretty good, but that I wouldn't take it as a serious book-one that might accompany a magazine, since it's so small and compact-but a good laugh for those expert at Internet 'chat' and a good resource for those who aren't.
E-mail Soap Opera
This is a tiny little paperback which tracks the on-line relationship of Max and Beverly, who meet on the Internet. He is single, she is married, and a flirtatious relationship develops. The entire book is made up of their e-mail messages to each other. 'Chat' is the first of a three-book series which tells their story, and ends on an entirely unbelievable cliff hanger. It seemed to me that the concept - a book of e-mails - was better than the execution. But it's a fun, quick, easy read, more like reading an article in Cosmopolitan than reading a book. And despite feeling that the plot and the characters had little substance, I can't help feeling intrigued about what happens next........a typical soap opera on the Internet!
