Customer Reviews

Excellent book for women serious about getting in shape5
This book is very good, it starts with a beginners program and works through to a more advanced program. It also then enables you to put together your own programs and gives lots of advice and information relevant to anyone looking to get into the best shape of their lives. It also includes interviews with various fitness pro's who give their training and diet tips. Whether your new to training or an old hand this book is still a must have for your collection.

As with any of these books the only person who can really make a difference to your life and shape is YOU - the book can tell you what and how to do it but unless you follow that advice it ain't gonna happen - you have to be prepared to put the work in ..... if you ARE then you WILL see the results you desire. Just remember there are no over night cures - it takes time and effort but the pay off is tenfold.

Hard to read2
I found this book very hard to read. The book in simple terms is just too big! After I had read a couple of chapters I gave up bored. I have subscriptions to various weight lifting magazines so know a quite a lot about weightlifting already.
I think that this book is only ideal for someone who has never lifted a weight before or been to a gym. If you have any knowledge at all then most of this book just repeats it.
If you want a book with pictures on most weightlifting moves then this would be a good book as it shows them all in chapters and you can just glance at these and ignore the rest.

knows its stuff4
I got this book a few days ago and at first impressions, the author knows his stuff, as you'd expect. It's strength is that it's specifically aimed for women and to fit in with this it's full of helpful chapters like workouts during pregnancy. There are lots of photos, all of which are clear and they're used to explain the exercises quite well. But, the faults I found are simple ones - Why does the author feel we need photos of people drinking water to get the message across?! And I think it could be a bit more user friendly if the photo models were a little less concerned with their lycra and makeup, and were more like the average person you see in a gym - but perhaps this is just me being picky! Anyway, faults aside, it's a great book especially if you're a beginner.
