Amazon.co.uk Review
In The Faerie's Oracle author and illustrator Brian Froud offers believers a chance to consult with the magical wee folks. Using a deck of 66 "oracle cards" believers conduct readings as if interpreting Tarot cards. Each of the cards feature Froud's signature faery pictures. Some of the cards have specific faeries, such as the naked leaping "Spirit Lancer"--a feminine card that represents "self-expression, freedom and exploration", according to the accompanying text written by Jessica Macbeth. Others are more abstract, such as the "Guardian of the Gate" a blue tinted card with splaying silver-white streaks that look like tendrils of faery hair.
This fascinating deck will keep Froud fans delighted for hours. Once seekers are ready to actually start communicating with faeries they will also be delighted with Macbeth's whimsical, yet highly informative guidebook. She is quick to sympathise with the self-consciousness that comes with talking to faeries, yet she also has the ability to jolly people out of their embarrassment. Macbeth is at her wisest when discussing how to ask for guidance and interpret specific layouts of oracle cards. But if you find yourself succumbing to giggles in the midst of all this faery woo-woo, take heart. Writes Macbeth, "Giggles are the grace notes of faery music." --Gail Hudson, Amazon.com

Not to my taste!
Mmm - feel you have to be a fan of this guy to enjoy the Oracle. Not really my taste. Sorry.
Prepare to be amazed
I bought these cards for myself as a little birthday treat and WOW, I am so glad I did! I've loved Froud's work for some time now, since coming across one of his older books in a thrift shop one day and buying it on a whim. He has an amazing insight and a true gift, with his art and perception of fae.
I read tarot and oracles on a regular basis and always look out for exceptional decks to make my readings more beautiful and enjoyable and since buying these, they have become my absolute favourite. I now shuffle every morning and pick a card to give me a little guidance for the day. The cards are honest, amusing, uplifting and most importantly - accurate.
I have asked these cards many questions during the daily shuffle, from questions about myself and my future to questions about my boyfriend and my friends and family and each and every time the cards have given me an amazingly accurate reply. If you have ever wanted to try to read tarot or oracles - begin here! The (beautiful) book that comes with the deck will guide you carefully and gently into the process and within a matter of minutes, you will feel better informed and more confident.
I find that the sheer artistry of the cards themselves is what helps you to memorise their message/advice and though committing all details to memory is NOT mandatory, it can make things easier. The deck also includes a blank card upon which you may sketch your own faerie guide - a unique touch to an oracle deck I have never seen before, but something original that I really like.
Don't hesitate - try them. I am SO glad I did.
Amazing and captivating
I first spotted this book at my cousins when visiting and was immediately drawn to the deck and actually started doing the exercises inside, I was amazed and totally smitten with the complexity of the cards and the great way the book is written. It is such an enlightening and special set of cards you are drawn into the world of the faeries like never before, a must for all froud fans and tarot fans alike
