Shayne Ward was planning to work in his local clothes shop as usual last Christmas. Instead he was selling CDs - millions of them. In fact, the artist who secured the 2005 Christmas Number One spot within a matter of hours sold more CDs and downloads than the rest of the UK Top 40 singles chart put together. Be it the combination of talent and good looks, Shayne has turned heads and stolen hearts across the country. His victory on X Factor launched his career, but there is much more to Shayne than talent show potential. Growing up in Manchester, life wasn't easy. Being the youngest son of a very large family - three brothers and three sisters - life in the Ward household was tough. But the challenges the family faced made him even more determined to succeed, espcially for his mother who sacrificed everything to support her beloved kids. SHAYNE WARD: MY STORY will provide a revealing insight into the world of one of the UK's hottest music stars. With honesty he discusses his meteoric rise to fame and how life has changed for this shop assistant from the Arndale Centre. It is a celebration of a new singing talent - Shayne is only 22 years old - a national heartthrob and a pop superstar in the making.

This book is a great insight into what life was like before shayne found fame on the x factor 2005, he talks alot about his early childhood and his relationships with his family, friends & Girlfriends and lots about his jobs before auditoning for the x factor. he also gives a great insight into what life was like from his point of view during the x factor it's self. He also talks about all that has hqappened so far since winning the x factor in december 2005 and all he hopes to achieve. He has gone on the have a number 1 single with that's my goal & have the fastest ever download record for the single, a Number 2 with his second single No promises and a hit with his 3rd single Stand By me, His debut album went straight to number 1 and sold 200.000 copies in the 1st week alone. He is about to embark on a tour of all the arena's across the uk and is currently in South Africa where his album is Number 1 at the moment and has also visit Asia where his album is number 1 too. 2006 has been a great year for Shayne Ward and there is more yet to come. The book is amazing and has the most beautiful pictures of Shayne in his day to day life, there are lots of new pictures never seen too. It is a well presented and a great christmas gift.
Feedback to Mr. D.J. Read
Mr. D.J. Read, You have the choice not to buy it, or not to read it. but in your comment you implied you haven't bought or read it, so I don't know what it is with you. I happened to work in a large bookstore, and have seen many unworthy best sellers all the time! how come you don't have problem with those?! And how old are you? Give the lad a break! He is young, sweet, cute and interesting enough to write a book about himself that people are willing to buy, to me that's good enough reason to publish. Why don't you try to write one (I'm sure yours would have a greater depth) and see how many copies it would sell? Who do you think you are to play book police to tell people what they should and should not read? when you haven't even read the book yourself, but obviously were intrigued (or disgusted, in your case) enough to jump on that soap box?! Your comment is a joke and ridiculous in its own way, when you can't see the simple fact of supply and demand. Since you can rate a book one star without reading it, I can rate it five without reading it, too, but am sure it would be more interesting to read than your smug superiority.
Whooooooo?
Shane Ward? Who is he? Has he had more than 1 single in the charts? What has happened here, it seems, is his career is floundering, as seems to consistently happen to these manufactured people. Sure, he was on the x-factor, when was it? Last year? Can he have had such a whirlwind year as to justify a novel? Was his previous life (full of sob stories no doubt) so interesting to fill this?
It's a joke, utterly ridiculous and can only be method of trying to renew his fame in the wake of some new singles he is probably about to release, and earning a few bob.
This really takes the biscuit, and I find it hard to express my disgust, as rubbish like this prevents genuine authors being published.
