Good Buy4
If you purchase this book don't as I did buy Jack Dempsey by Randy Roberts as the Tunney book covers alot on Dempsey plus what there was to know about Tunney. They are both good books but much is repeated, my preference is the Tunney book.

Well written and worth a read - tells the story of Tunney and the story of how he took on Jack Dempsey4
This is a worthwhile read - well written and detailed.Provides a good insight into boxing in the 1920's/30's and contains interesting information about a range of fighters during the period. A little over the top in it's overpraising of Tunney I felt which at times - made me question some of the objectivity of the material and sometimes some of its accuracy. However,Tunney certainly seems to have had his head screwed on right and was smart enough to enter the fight game and come out on top - which is an achievement in itself. A recommended read about a 'thinking man's heavyweight champion of the world'.
