Dont waste your money
Probably the least useful [ or even entertaining ] Poker book on my shelf.
After a couple of chapters the prose becomes extremely stereotypical and monotonous, and the theme behind the book [which is that ancient warfare strategy is akin to modern Texas Holdem] proves about as useful as would be dressing up a Ghengis Khan for your next tourney.
All hyperbole and no substance I'm afraid.
Tournament poker and the Art of Woffle
The author constantly repeats himself throughout this book, emphasising the importance of patience, deception and obtaining maximum value with minimal risk. These points are illustrated through vague quotes from the 'master' Sun-Tzu. The author stretches 10 pages of sound practical advice into 150 pages of waffle, and struggles to squeeze as much applicable wisdom as possible from text written 2500 years ago.
It is (at best) a bearable read - Lord of the Rings meets poker theory...... decide for yourself.
