Synopsis
This complete and unabridged edition of THRICE GREATEST HERMES contains translations of existing sermons and fragments of Trismegistic (Hermetic) literature, with introductions, commentaries, and notes. It will be of great value to anyone studying Hellenistic theosophy or interested in the historic, mythic, and mystic origins of Christianity. Mead's study of Hermetic literature, Eastern philosophy and Greek mysticism led him to conclude that the Wisdom of Egypt formed the background for many of the principal teachings of Early Christianity.
Customer Reviews
A fundamental read for the serious searcher
This tome is quite in-depth in it's analyses. If you are one who is a searcher after knowledge & wisdoms - through gnosis - then this read should be on your shelf. It is written by an individual who, obviously, has extensive occult & mystic knoweledge. Actually, out of the countless thousands of tomes I've perused in my own individual quest (a successful one, I might add) - this is now the only book that I need & read.
