Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
For sitters and thinkers........
‘There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke’. You might recognise that as a quote from Bob Dylan’s All Along The Watchtower, but who said ‘The role of a mother is to deliver children obstetrically once and by car forever after’ or ‘Love is an act of endless forgiveness, a tender look which becomes a habit’?*

You might find answers to those in a dictionary of quotations, but what if somebody asked you over dinner about some of the most famous books in history, which you just never got around to reading … Paradise Lost, Lord of the Flies, To Kill a Mockingbird, Macbeth or even 1984? Would you admit total ignorance or would you try to bluff your way through?

Now you don’t have to do either. A must-have book called Passing Time In The Loo gives you all this information and plenty more besides. As well as including two-page summaries of these works and more than 115 others, it has brief biographies of religious and political leaders, scientists, healers, artists and explorers. There is also a Word Power section designed to expand anybody’s vocabulary and many witty and wise anecdotes that will amuse and educate at the same time.

Designed so the reader can dip in and out at whim, picking up easily-absorbed snippets of information without ever feeling bogged down with too much data, Passing Time In The Loo [of course, it can be read anywhere-not only in the loo] also includes sections on health and fitness, personal effectiveness and even foreign words and phrases.

The only question is- 'Will you have time to read it ALL in the loo?'

Customer Reviews

Don't be put off by the title. A great book!5
While this book might at first seem to be aimed at constipated men - or at least those who always take something to read in the loo with them - it's really ideal for both sexes and should be on every coffee table in the land [not to mention dentists' waiting rooms]. Packed with bite-size chunks of information, anecdotes, reviews of classic novels, biographies of famous people ... it's great. If you really want to take the title literally, my advice is to eat nothing but bananas for a month and work your way through this book in the little boy's [or girl's] room during your marathon sessions there. If you still have any friends left with your strange toilet habits, you'll impress their socks off with what you know about, well ... everything!

Brilliant! Worth it's weight in gold. (And it's heavy!)5
This book contains a summary of just about every topic that ever comes up in any conversation. Vast trivia, biographies of famous people, summaries of classic novels, ways to improve vocabulary, management guide, personal effectiveness, general knowledge, and that's not even vaguely close to all. My most valued book without a doubt. It's very well-researched, well presented and absolutely ideal for a gift. Don't be put off my the title - this book is basically an insightful summary of everything. I'm off to buy another copy just in case...

You'll end up going to the loo just to read it!5
This is a great book, full of interesting bits and pieces of information. Its easy enough to pick up and quickly glean something you never new before...from how to prepare for interviews, dieting tips to book reviews and rules of sport.
Its certain to impress visitors to your home, whom will probably end up borrowing it or buying a copy for themselves.
A great gift idea for those who have everything.
