If you are sick of political and council-based treachery, hypocrisy and stifling propaganda then this book is just the right tonic for you. The exclusive content in this book, which is written from hard personal experience, affects every member of society in one way or another.
Dirty Politics exposes the totalitarian actions of 21st century councils that are bullying the UK 's populace into blindly accepting their extensively detested and potentially harmful, fortnightly waste collection scheme.
This book however highlights numerous environmental concerns which affect citizens in other places too such as America and Europe .
With an expert, no-nonsense forward by leading weekly collections campaigner, Doretta Cocks, Dirty Politics punches the lights out of council dictatorships everywhere It you want fantasy then watch generalised media coverage on your television set - if you want the facts, they are afraid to print, then this is the book you must get to grips with now!
Community and eco-activist Pat Regan's uncompromising, no-nonsense investigation uncovers how self-righteous local authorities are destroying our natural environment for business profit and enforcing their so-called Alternate Weekly Collection (AWC) against the will of the people.
Rats, flies, maggots, stink and disease from decaying waste overload in our bins; all such issues are ignored by authoritarian councils, whilst the public suffers for their holy pronouncement.
Belligerent council chiefs in their ivory towers claim this Labour Government-pushed strategy over our waste collection is necessary. Campaigners for weekly collections stalwartly disagree, pointing out indisputable health concerns and political fraudulence behind these greatly detested policies.
Dirty Politics cuts through the blinding smog of overt bureaucracy and clearly shows us how politicians are misusing controversial claims of global warming, critical global energy concerns and recycling myths to endorse their stealth taxes and hidden agendas against us all.
Dirty Politics reveals the lies and propaganda surrounding ineffective `alternative' energy sources along with the ongoing wildlife habitat destruction by hypocritical councils and cold-blooded, point-scoring politicians.
In his unique book Pat Regan exposes the manipulative half-truths surrounding contemporary dictatorships mounted by those political forces that have abused the power vested in them by a trusting populace.
Pat Regan pulls no punches in providing evidence concerning the type of `Dirty politics' that many of us innocently joke about - but would be appalled to discover was in fact the `truth!'
Dirty Politics uncovers the multiple falsehoods behind the bastions of elected authority that affect us all in every country.
Whilst the main stay of Dirty Politics is concerned with the hated 2-week collection policy other subjects are also covered in great depth.
More authoritarian indifference is uncovered by Pat Regan when we read of his experiences with the official `no-go' retorts from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) over certain air safety issues brought fairly to their attention.
Pat Regan reached international media attention after inadvertently taking a, now famous, photograph of a UFO during a twister storm. A ten-man team touring Britain for the US History Channel filmed Regan during a four hour interview, which hit US screens in early 2009. Following this Pat Regan set up a contact point called `North West UFO Research', which continues to attract a plethora of media attention. This somewhat unusual issue is briefly covered in Dirty Politics, yet with an emphasis on later MoD apathy over the air safety issue which was highlighted by both Regan and the ex-MoD expert, Nick Pope.
Regan covers the controversial issue of how jumped-up UK councils are happy to support official decrees to somehow stop so-called (and unsubstantiated) global warming, yet at the same time turn a blind eye to wanton wildlife habitat destruction for business profit.
Principal ecological figures like Dr David Bellamy are accentuated as leading examples of how the media have unfairly ostracised and scapegoated courageous experts that simply fail to tow the popular climate alarmist line.
In the States, Al Gore's controversial latest attempts to create climate alarm are also thoroughly discredited with characteristic Regan verve.
Global energy issues also come within the remit of Pat Regan's unique study, with experts on nuclear provision like the Canadian, H Douglas Lightfoot, (creator of the DVD `Nobody's Fuel') quoted in depth.
Regan takes a ferocious swipe at much of the duplicity behind so-called `green' groups that have refused to help his `Save Southport Greenbelt' eco- group conserve threatened wildlife habitats, whilst at the same time happily spending membership fees on chasing the controversial global warming fiasco.
Leading figures like US weathermen John Coleman, Professor Philip Stott, Professors David Mossman and Ralf Brüning and many others drift in and out of the equations presented.
Many blustering politicians are proficiently highlighted in Dirty Politics for misdemeanours such as getting themselves sued following obnoxious antics on internet chat rooms; unrelenting chat room vendettas; getting thrown out of health care meetings for disruptive behaviour, verbally attacking members of the public at town halls, driving offences and seeking to play down family crimes in the press etc.
The British television hit political series, `Houses Of Cards may have been mere fiction, yet Dirty Politics is based on unadulterated and hard-hitting facts.
Dirty politics shows the harsh facts behind the spin and threatens to expose the very foundations of what many of us will be both surprised and disgusted to discover about our local UK democracy system.
Politics, local, national or indeed international may never be quite the same again after this much-heralded work finally sees its release in June 2009

From the Author
I am a married father of four lovely children and also a grandfather of a toddler.
I was born and raised in Southport Lancashire. I have both Swiss and Irish blood running through my veins and the rebellious Celtic fraction may be what gives me the internal fire to stand against bullies of any sort, which are regularly mentioned within the revealing pages of my latest book, `Dirty Politics'.
As a child and younger man I was largely indifferent to what went on in the world. So long as nothing affected me I let things slide by.
Nevertheless, life had other plans for me and as my thirties, drifted into my forties my will became firmly set against various injustices in both the political arena and within ecological concerns. My primary mode of self expression was first, as a painter with brush and canvas, yet later on the written word became my favoured technique of attacking life's inadequacies. I believe that the power of the written word must not be underestimated! Words are higher thought forms manifested into hard reality; the potential influence they hold on the human psyche is greater than most of us are ever aware!
Back in 2003 I first discovered how filthy politics could become when a well-meant, cross-party, secular anti-hospital cuts campaign brought out the very worst in self-righteous politicians who had lost face and were clearly out for revenge. My family was attacked in the press and on the internet by the politicians who were `supposed' to be supporting the rights of their constituents and I, along with several other concerned individuals, realised that the world must be alerted to their despicable deeds and misleading propaganda.
The hatred they levelled at any dissenters to their agendas was soon to be directed towards the local countryside when concerns about their eco-destructive development plans surfaced.
Before too long the same despots were seeking to enforce the detested 2-week waste collection scheme on residents. They would not listen to legitimate public concerns and steamrollered over anyone who stood in their way. They used every trick in the book to silence their critics yet I exposed them along with other campaigners, such as Doretta Cocks of the Campaign to return weekly collections, at every opportunity. I quickly discovered that other UK boroughs were receiving `The Treatment' by totalitarian authorities that had run out of control, via enforcement of this Government's massively unpopular bin policy.
Dirty politics was born as a means to highlight the gross hypocrisy and dictatorship festering deep within local authorities towards the UK's populace.
Someone had to write this groundbreaking book and it just so happened that the gods, in their wisdom, granted me with this substantial task!
So far in life I have been deeply involved with many campaigns for the environment, wildlife, minority religious rights, exposure of apathy from authorities like the Ministry of Defence towards unidentified objects and of course more recently the crusade to return our more hygienic weekly waste collections. The bin issue is also set to escalate due to manic proposals to worsen this situation with `monthly' (yes, 4 week) collections next. Watch this space!
My latest claim to fame has been to appear on US TV (the History Channel, UFO Hunters show) and appear in the International press subsequent to me inadvertently photographing something rather bizarre over the skies of Lancashire. This will be the subject of a future book.
I am probably happiest when fly fishing on the wild spate stream of Lancashire and Yorkshire by my self. I have a website about this passion and I am currently seeking to finalise a book about that particular subject.
My chief interests (I hate the term `hobbies') include:
Writing about things that affect me and interest me; exposing closet hypocrites in political circles that think they are above reproach; being good to close friends; looking after the family; fly fishing and fly tying; Growing fruit and vegetables; painting pictures, when I get a minute; campaigning about any issues that seem unjust; Ufology (I have created a popular research outlet/website regarding this issue); ancient global mythology and native British Pagan religion (I have written two published books on this subject). Occasional shooting (I hold a Firearms Certificate); weight - lifting, martial arts (I initially trained with the legendary late, great Gary Spiers); metal-detecting in remote areas; seeking to protect the threatened countryside/wildlife from the excess of councils and callous politicians and many other things that I simply cannot recall just now.
I must say that my efforts in various campaigns have brought to me a wide band of good and genuine friends who really care about how society is going. My greatest wish would be to see such caring crusaders in places of influence.
From the Inside Flap
Pat Regan's book Dirty Politics is most certainly `not' a work of fiction. All information within its remit is based on hard facts, personal experience and evidence gleaned from years of tough campaigning against various forms of social and ecological suppression.
If Pat Regan's words at first upset or even offend you in any way then please give the author the benefit of the doubt. Read the whole work through, before you make judgements.
Dirty Politics will tell it as it `is', from the heart, and not how it is supposed to be. It is written from first-hand experience, not passed on gossip from other factions with dubious agendas.
Dirty Politics endeavours are well-meant and based on genuine concern for what Regan holds dear. Many concerned people of a similar mindset to Pat Regan have been urgently seeking to expose similar or indeed the very same facts to a wider audience for some time.
The passion behind Dirty Politics is to resist mismanagement, oppression and cold-hearted officialdom that have run out of control.
Dictatorial bullies, that hate to listen and love to shout, clearly hold a strange magnetic quality for crusader like Regan. He clearly gravitates to them and if they fail to control their malevolent ways he is always happy to oblige, via returning the favour three-fold times.
The latest waste collection debacle, that is affecting so many ordinary families everywhere, is a prime example of this authoritarian misconduct and it needs to be roundly exposed for what it is - right now!
The vast majority of information contained in this work is related to the controversial waste collection issue, yet Dirty Politics also includes data regarding the way those greedy authorities and firms etc mistreat the ecosystem.
Most of this type of thing is of course interrelated anyway; consequently it is all highly relevant to the subject matter. Freethinker Pat Regan has also tackled the divisive issue of global warming allegations, not as any great scientific expert but as a long-time campaigner who has seen exactly how clever politicians are manipulating the public via that subject for their own selfish ends.
Dirty Politics follows the vast international topic of energy issues, which are again related to the matters at hand and ultimately concern us all - whether we like it or not.
People have fairly asked Regan how he ever got involved in the widespread campaign against the UK Government's notorious and greatly unpopular two-week bin scheme. That is a very good question yet one that he has honestly never really bothered to address before now.
He habitually addresses the cause and effect of things, always has, preferring to rely on pure gut instinct for the best advice rather than trust the word of so-called `experts' who frequently have carefully hidden agendas.
Community activist and author Pat Regan has been involved in several significant eco-campaigns and others to change residential matters for the better.
In the inimitable words of Pat Regan himself - "I wrote this book because sooner or later someone had to!"

Dirty Politics
The issues surrounding fortnightly rubbish collections in Pat Regan's borough echoes the experiences of countless other residents throughout the UK. This book exposes much of the hypocrisy surrounding "green" policies. It is clear more and more people are starting to question the assurances they are given and whether, in fact, we really are "saving the planet".
This is a hard-hitting book which shows great insight into topical matters such as climate change, global warming and habitat destruction. The author quite rightly questions claims made by some scientists and provides counter-responses by experts.
One major criticism most local authorities, and even national Government, use to attack anyone who should challenge the quality of waste collection services is "You don't care about the environment." As Pat so eloquently describes the campaigns he has been involved in over a number of years, that accusation can certainly NOT be levelled at him. I share his genuine concerns that our local environments are being adversely affected by the loss of weekly refuse collections. Fly tipping is increasing and the brown rat population is booming in areas where fortnightly rubbish collections have been introduced.
From his local perspective Southport is under the spotlight yet he covers experiences across the country and highlights the inconsistencies from one borough to another. One thing is certain - many thousands of people are telling the Councillors elected to serve them that rubbish needs to be collected once a week. Some have listened and restored this service - others continue to deny the very real problems.
