Synopsis
This book presents a hilariously incisive examination of the McMahon family behemoth - the stupendously hit-and-miss legacy that is the WWE. In an industry where nothing is real and no-one actually wins or loses, the possibilities for manipulation are endless. And in a corporation controlled by Vince McMahon the likelihood of manipulation is a fait accompli. Nepotism, backward logic and lunatic power plays have characterised the colourful history of the industry everyone loves to hate. Guttman, righteously and rightfully incensed, employs a mixture of hard facts, cutting humour and rigid analysis to break down the secrets of McMahon's empire and uncover the reasoning - such as it is - behind many of its creative and business decisions. Never before have WWE, the McMahon family and Triple H been held so closely to the light - and never before have such obviously searching questions been asked and answered by someone with no vested interest in their outcome. Why are some of the shows written as they are? Who has the company's best interests at heart? Who has their own bets interests at heart?

Stay Away
A rambling incoherent book with no logical point. If you're looking for a decent book and stories of Vinnie Mac, get Sex Lies and Headlocks, much more interesting. This book (at least the thirty or so pages that I managed to read) basically trashes WWE. Shouldnever have been published. Also highly recommended, the best wrestling book ever, the Death of WCW. Hilarious and factual. Can't beat it.
good analysis does not equate to a good read
World Wrestling Insanity is at times an entertaining read looking at various aspects of wwe which are more than questionable. While the analysis is generally always right on the money, the informal and very subjective writing style I found to be not suitable and inappropriate. Also the flow of the book is very disjointed jumping from one subject matter to another,in no chronological or logical manner. Also the pacing of the book is flawed with one chapter going six pages whilst another chapter lasts more than a quarter of the whole book.Overall, whilst the book covers suitable subject matters, the negative, subjective and 'chatty' style makes the book disappointing.
Best Wrestling Book I've ever read
This book is amazing. It looks at corruption in the wrestling business, truths about various mistakes the WWE have made, how things could be better within the WWE and many other things. I can't really tell you to much more about this book without spoiling it for you, although the Examples of Sexual Perversion in the WWE had me in stitches. Brilliant book, highly recommended.
