Customer Reviews
Reccomended for healthier running
I have worked through this book, and found that it "does what it says on the tin".
I am a fitness runner, not a racer. I found that my form was improving - I was using my shoulders to drive myself forward in a much more integrated way. The running felt better, and healthier.
The book does need work. Each chapter is a lesson to work through exploring your body. There is also a tape course of the lessons, wich will suit some people better.
Running With The Whole Body
This book has some very sound advice for improving your running technique. Sadly it is presented in a very dated format. The pictures need updating and the exercise explanations aren't as clear as they could be. The case studies at the end of each chapter are interesting, although the author does come across as a touch self congratulatory at times. Overall a good book for those who have many other books on the topic, but not an outstanding read or for those who are new to running.
Worth every penny
This is a book chock full of sound advice and easy to follow principles! The book has a good pace and all techniques are thoroughly explained and well illustrated. The aim is to inform the reader of the body's mechanics which enable running to be an easy and enjoyable activity- Jack Heggie accomplishes this task superbly. Buy this book!
