Small and concise, just what the doctor ordered4
The book is aimed at people who are probably starting out in cycling. It has sections on how to set up the bike, nutrition, basic weight training and ailments. If you've been cycling for a while then this book is not for you, but for the beginner it is excellent. I would also highly recommend "Training techniques for cyclists" from the same publisher. It is slightly more advanced and just as cheap.

Who is this book for?2
Other reviewers have said this book is aimed at beginners and with basic advice on purchasing a book I think this is probably the case. However, the book is aimed at club riders who are serious about cycling and getting fit using cycling as the main activity rather than casual cyclists or people who use their bikes to commute.

Although the book contains plenty of useful information some of it simply wasn't relevant for me (working out how many calories you have consumed on a ride based on a number of factors including drafting), some of it was far too basic and as the book is only just over 100 pages topics that are important and relevant aren't covered in enough detail.

I don't recommend this book - you can all of the information you need from other sources in a more accessible writing style with better pictures and graphics.

Get more from your excercise.5
This is a great book which goes through all the basics including positioning, frame size, fitness and weight control using Cycling as well as more advanced topics such as tips on pedalling and hillclimbing.

I've read it a couple of times now and always pick up on something new.
Worthwhile to give you a bit of a boost from Cycling during cold winter days and something to energize you!
