Product Description

You think you know about Darwinism and intelligent design, but did you know: there is no overwhelming evidence for Darwinism; intelligent design is based on scientific evidence, not religious belief; what many public schools teach about Darwinism is based on known falsehoods; scientists at major universities believe in intelligent design; scientists who question Darwinism are punished - by public institutions using your tax dollars. Battle-hardened veteran with doctorates in biology and theology sets the record straight in "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Darwin and Intelligent Design".

Excellent Review of One Side5
I have read many reviews that condemn Wells' book when looking for mistakes or other problems with the book, but none of the reviews mentioned any valid reasons for condemning his work. I fail to see what is so controversial in this book, aside from the fact that it supports one side only. Books often do that. If you want to read about the other side, one often has to read another book. I do this all the time. Most everyone has a position on most controversial issues, and one expects a writer to take a position when writing a book. This book tells one side which should be considered when any issue is studied. I found a few things I would quibble with, but most of the book was well documented (I looked up many of the references and found no case where the information was taken out of context or misinterpreted). One quibble I have is Wells noted several examples of putative speciation and showed they did not pan out after more research. As Wells noted, Coyne and Orr listed 25 definitions for speciation, showing it is a very problematic concept. All one has to do is find an example of a change that fits one of these definitions, such as two life forms that at one time could reproduce but in time no longer can sexually reproduce, and you have proved speciation. An example would be Great Danes and a Chihuahuas can no longer interbreed, although they were both bred from dogs that go back to the wolf. These two breeds were bred by humans and one could call them two different species, proving speciation. Of course no one does this even though this example clearly fits the common definition of speciation. Yet examples exist where claims are made that speciation occurred by selecting one of the 25 potential definitions that fits and running with it.

Brilliant summation of the Issues with great Witt !5
Wells does it again ! Icons of evolution was a masterpiece, and this keeps up the easy-to-read and hit-the-nail-on-the-head style that will make it so accessible to all. Dont be put off by the title, because this really is not a right-wing creationist rant; far from it. It is a brilliant and eruldite summation of all the key Scientific and Political issues involved and a fair if scary presentation of the facts. Scary because it reveals how much power the atheistic Neo-Darwinists can wield though I agree with Wells that they cannot win.

It is easy to read, historically and scientifically accurate and up-to-date. While it does not pretend to be any fan of Darwinism, it rightly affords Darwin his proper place amongst many others in the history of Modern Science for describing and publishing the 'Micro-evolution' theories that have now long been accepted as fact - i.e. that through natural selection and othe rprocesses, species evolve over time within their species, although farmers knew about that and used it to their advantage long before Darwin. If anything Mengel is the real Father of modern biological evolution but Wells treats Darwin with proper and due respect.

Despite its provocative title, this book is more than fair and Polite to Darwinists, and it is such a pity they cannot find it in themselves to reciprocate; a fact that I find very revelaing. Perhaps that is because unlike Darwinists, wells is not trying to defend an indefensible dogma or religion, but instead is trying to promote True Science i.e. the open-minded exploration of facts, hypothesis and Truth. Wells here presents the published and well-known facts, scientific research findings and quotes from both sides fairly, and does not stoop to the 'dawkins' style of retort by making childish and unscientific atheistic religious rants, though methinks he would be more than justified in doing so.

What is revealed here is that Darwinism; that being the theory that all life must have evolved from a common anscestor combined with the unjustified definition of Science; that ONLY materialistic explanations suffice, is false and is as much a religion as creationsism though it is actually less supported by real evidence. Science is the seeking for truth. Science shoudl follow the facts to wherever they lead and not attempt to prejudge. It should alarm everyone that the 'religion' of atheistic materialsm is now wielding such vast quantities of tax-payer Money to prop up Darwinists and to block any debate on opposing theories.

As Wells says, Darwinists are exhibiting all the signs of a dying faith, of having already lost the argument, evidenced by their resort to suppression, oppression and personal redicule, rather than scientific debate. I particularly loved the quote from Max Plank in 1949 inferring that for a new paradignm to replace the old, as is happening here, you probably need to wait till all those living off the fat of the old are dead before the next generation can sweep them aside, as the young more readily hunger for truth to be placated by unsubstantiated dogma. It is also true that those in power rarely relinquish it willingly as they have far too much to lose.

If you need to get to the nitty gritty on this subject and dont have time to read all the land-mark books such as 'Icons of Evolution' or 'Darwins Black Box' etc .. then this book will give you and adequate briefing on all the key points. It is excellent and I highly recommended it - though Non US citizens liek me will need to forgive the American slant. Oh ist also and fun too!

Never mind "politically incorrect", it is just "incorrect"1
I lokk forward to other books in this series "The Politically Incorrect Guide to why the world is flat", "The Politically Incorrect Guide to why the sun goes around the earth" or "The Politically Incorrect Guide to why bllod does not circulate in the body"

In other words, this book is so scarily inaccurate and ill-informed it is almost funny.

Almost.
