Customer Reviews
A great book for all wine lovers
:
As a wine lover myself I find it difficult to imagine anyone with a true interest in wine won't find this book fascinating, enjoyable and provoking. It seems wine books like these come along rarely, but when they do they open up wine into such a broad, exciting and absorbing read, helping people to get closer to understanding wine and their own experience with it.
With truly up-to-the-minute topics to cover things for the merely curious to would be winemaker and written in a style to make sure they remain accessible but not dumbed down; there is something for everyone.
The presentation and appearance is excellent, with snap shot sections to cover areas in a drop in style. Indeed, this is book you could read cover to cover, or dip in as curiosity bites you. There's some great photography, but being in B&W means one or two pictures could have been clearer. However, one plus side is the plastic Rosemount cork in amongst the real ones in the picture of traditional corks is well hidden!
I was surprised the ageing wine didn't have it's own section, although it crops up from time to time within other chapters. But any of this is simply looking for something to critique, and it's a book I truly recommend.

There's even a wine-science.com website to accompany the book.
