About the Author
Carol Deacon is an experienced cake decorator and demonstrator who began her career in 1992 working with Jane Asher. In 1993 she was the winner of an icing contest sponsored by a leading food magazine and was later appointed cake consultant to an international chain store. She is the author of the highly successful Quick and Easy Novelty Cakes, No-Time Party Cakes and Party Cakes for Children, also published by New Holland. Carol also writes regularly for various food magazines including Cake Craft and Decoration and demonstrates regularly on television. She lives in Flitwick, Bedfordshire.

Impress your friends and family....!
A wonderful book for a complete novice in cake decorating! Lots of brilliant ideas which look really impressive but are amazingly easy to make and without a piping bag in sight. I keep coming back to it and you really can make a cake that looks like the one in the picture. After the last one I was even told I should go into business........and I promise anyone reading this that I am not a confident cook. Thankyou Carol for dispelling the fear and for all the compliments which I would never have received without your instructions.

Another great book.
This is my favourite of Carol Deacon's books. While most of the designs lean towards children there are also some lovely ideas for other occasions. My particular favourite is the burger cake, which went down very well with my 14 year old step-son. This book doesn't require you to buy any special tools as most other books on the subject do and the techniques used are mostly pretty straightforward. There is a good mix of very simple cakes and more elaborate ones so you can start at a level you feel comfortable with. With a little patience you can get some incredible results that really do look like the ones in the book!

Amazing book!
This is an excellent book containing many different designs - ranging from easy to difficult, but all with extremely good finished products. The ideas are stunning and there is step-by-step instruction for all parts of the production - the basic designs being easy to adapt for a specific occasion, I've already made 3 cakes from this book and I only bought it a fortnight ago! Excellent.
