Product Description

Propaganda, an official fan club magazine subtitled the World Service Magazine, has been giving diehard fans the inside gen on U2 ever since the early 1980s. Packed with articles by the band, interviews with them by major music journalists and glorious photography by the likes of Anton Corbijn, Propaganda has appeared on a roughly bi-annual basis for almost twenty years. Early editions are now much sought-after collectors' items. Propaganda has previously been limited to fan club members, but now U2 are going public. This lavish, beautiful coffee-table book compiles the finest moments, wittiest essays, most candid interviews and beautiful photography from the magazine's twenty year existence and reproduces them in their original design and typography. It is no less than a first-hand documentary of the history of the biggest bands in the world. There are few rock souvenirs that can genuinely be described as 'must-haves' for a band's most committed, devoted fans. Propaganda is one of them.

About the Author
Propaganda is largely U2 in their own words, either via self-penned articles and tour diaries or unusually revealing interviews. However, there are also contributions from such U2 camp followers and leaders as Paul McGuinness and BP Fallon as well as a host of beautiful images by Anton Corbijn, universally acknowledged as the best rock photographer currently extant.

Customer Reviews

Long overdue5
Being a proud owner of all the propagandas is a great feeling but the desire to keep them pristine has meant that they never really see the light of day. For me this is a walk down memory lane and a chance to enjoy again the stories and facts of years go by. For you, (if you don't have the originals), it's a great chance to catch up on things you may have missed.... Just don't expect to find any MELON's... (if you know what I mean, smile)
