Synopsis
Kids these days don't want to be rock stars anymore, they want to be DJ's! This clear, easy reference book is the definitive guide to becoming a DJ. Learn about: what equipment you need to buy; how to set-up and maintain the equipment; music theory pertinent to DJ technique; the beat matching process (cueing, releasing, pitching, correcting); mixing, scratching, tricks, effects, beat juggling and flare theory; latest advances; and the history and culture of DJ-ing. This book is both a starting point for an individual wanting to learn the technique and the accomplished DJ wishing to advance their skills and learn more of the history of their culture. The book includes a CD-ROM providing audio and visual aids to the techniques taught.

Poor1
I was expecting an in depth insight into DJ'ing, what I got was a brief, vague book that is padded out with pictures of DJ's to make it look nice. On the CD I was expecting video tutorials or something useful, but all thats on there is 5 tracks that are in no way linked to the content of the book.

I think there are many other books that are far more informative than this; in my opinion the book is just an attempt to cash in on the popularity of DJ'ing.

A book for the pros, the bedroom djs and the enthusiast!5
A thoroughly helpful and insightful book for all ages. Having dj'd for many years, I found that the experienced writers gave a fantastic overview on djing as a whole, and an in-depth guide to djing techniques. A concise and informative read, this definitely is my favourite out of all the Dj-esque books - go buy!
