Review
"'It has a really simple layout full of 1 hour lessons to type up with a reference guide at the back of the book which is very helpful. Worth the money!' 'This book really delivers on its promises. It cannot help you learn to touch type if you put in no effort, but if you do the basis is there for marked improvement. I couldn't touch type at all when I started using this book and now my technique is almost perfect.'" --Reader review

A good buy
I bought this as I really wanted to learn how to touch type and this book really helped me. It has a really simple layout full of 1 hour lessons to type up with a reference guide at the back of the book which is very helpful. Worth the money!
An Excellent Guide
This really delivers on its promises. It cannot help you learn to touch type if you put in no effort, but if you do the basis is there for marked improvement. I couldn't touch type at all when I started using this book and now my technique is almost perfect. Speed is the only thing that this book doesn't teach; that, again, comes only with practice. As Mrs. Dobson says, just a few hours now and you really will reap the benefits.
A great primer
Periodically, I get one of these books out of the library and try to teach myself to type. Rarely do I get beyond the "ask a sad lass" stage. This time, I not only passed that point but pushed on to the finish. There is just the right balance of repetition and progress. The only reason I give it four stars rather than five is that the final section on Microsoft Word will eventually go out of date, like all computer related info. Everything else will last a lifetime. Just as long as you practise.
