A good buy4
This book covers almost everything from applying make-up to safe tanning and getting rid of stress. Product reviews by independent panels of women who have actually used the products for a specific period of time are very informative. Information about natural and organic products is included for those who are concerned about the safety of beauty products (and food!) in general. There's also a "daisy" rating indicating which products contain significant levels of natural ingredients. Sarah and Jo understand it's your choice whether you care about the naturalness of beauty products, but if you don't want to hear any "green talk", they might get on your nerves a little.

A good all-rounder, I've owned a copy since it was launched and have referred to it so many times. Definitely worth a buy.

good but room for improvement3
I decided to purchase this book after being heavily disappointed with the handbag version. It is good but.... i just feel there seems to be a lot missing. for example, there are no reviews or advice on deoderants. Variety in products seems to be lacking.... i.e I don't think they give enough products for one section. Especially on foundations and moisturisers. It does however give you many tips and advice. It is also gives you information on certain ingredients to look out for and what to avoid. If you would like a condensed version of this 'beauty scoop' is the book for you.

Indispensable beauty guide5
I honestly don't know how I managed without this book as it truly is the bible to consult every time you make a beauty buy. Even a casual shopping visit to the Selfridges beauty department, or any Space NK can be incredibly pricey, especially if you get distracted by the latest kitsch/minimalist packaging or ambushed by a fast-talking sales assistant. This book is therefore a great investment and will, in the long run, save you a LOT of money, as it gives you all the up-to-date info on each product and enables you to compare and contrast it with similar brands. You can find out what ingredients the product contains, and how natural it is, and how it has fared with a whole range of testers so you quickly get a pretty good idea whether it's worth trying it out. All the products I have tried at the authors' recommendations have become indispensable to me, and I am eternally grateful to them for introducing me to the Liz Earle range, which is fantastic...so this book is, in a nutshell, highly recommended!
