Essential, Handy reference guide
The latest Raceform edition of this title is a compact, enjoyable read. Structured in the form of an A-Z glossary/dictionary which explains betting and sporting terms as well as mathematical concepts relevant to both, this book is a useful reference guide, but also features numerous 'asides' on the history of the betting industry, key names and events in the history probability theory etc. If you enjoy betting-related sports such as horse racing, football or american football, this book is worthwhile for entertainment value alone. If you bet, this is also an essential guide to help boost your general knowledge, and thus reduce chances of placing bad/losing bets over the long haul. Good value for money, highly recommended. I wish I had bought my own copy sooner!
